• Convenient to Hearst Castle.
• While the room was clean, the motel was old and tired looking. Not much to choose from on the east side of the highway.

“While the motel was clean, I would not stay in this location or at this motel again. Desolate with very limited options for food.”

• The location to the beach was good.

“For starters the room was very bland. The towels were old and tattered. The indoor pool was dirty and not well kept. The spa had too much chlorine. We got in and had to get right out because the chlorine was so strong it burned our eyes in less than a minute. Staff was not very friendly when asked for better towels or to clean room a little better. Overall rating is poor. Will return to San Simeon but not at that hotel, never.”

• Noisy bus load of foreign tourists.

“The hotel was close to Hearst Castle. The indoor Jacuzzi and swimming pool were a nice touch. Though not modern, they were spacious. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower valve was not working properly but a call to the front desk got the maintenance man in 15 min. The water was either very hot or very cold. He showed me how to adjust it for Luke warm shower, finally. The valve clearly needs to be replaced. The motel was quiet until a tourist bus full of foreigners arrived, taking 20 units. They kept my wife up & were talking somewhat loudly early the next morning. The breakfast included coffee, tea, and orange juice, cold cereal milk and a better then expected variety of rolls. I would use this motel again but not before asking if they expected a bus load of foreign tourists on the nights I planned to stay.”

• The room was large and bed comfortable.
• The bathroom toilet was leaking and we complained to no avail the floor was always wet.

“They need to handle problems in a responsible way, and put families with children together and rooms for adults separate.”

“If you are looking for a very clean fair priced hotel in the San Simeon area this hotel will fit the bill. No it is not upscale or down by the beach, however everything is within walking distance or a short drive.”

• Good price, close to location desired, easy to find, town close by was nice.
• Furniture outdated.

“The staff was friendly, location perfect for where we were going, could use new furniture in room especially new bedspreads, all in all a good stay, bathroom clean but no water pressure, I would stay again.”

• Jacuzzi was nice. proximity to Hearst castle and Piedras blancas was good.
• The pool area was dark, the clerk did not know how to turn them on and manager didn't answer her call for help.

“They advertise about their indoor pool. This area would be fine in moderate weather but in cold weather the pool is not really usable because the room around the pool doesn't seem to be heated. they leave the doors open so it doesn't warm up and it was not safe in the evening because the lights on a timer don't come on until after 6:30 pm and it's already dark. The continental breakfast can barely be called that as it was a few day old donuts and muffins and really bad coffee. The water temp of the shower and sink was not great and due to improper installation the sink wouldn't drain all the way.”

• This hotel has a very convenient location, and the staff was friendly.
• The shower had a mind of its own.

“We weren't expecting much when we made a last-minute reservation for a major holiday weekend. The rooms, however, were clean and tidy, and the staff was helpful. The bathrooms could use some work, and the towels were pretty thin, but our only substantial complaint was the variability in the water temperature for the shower -- icy cold to burning hot and back again. This may have been just in our room or because there were so many people staying there, though. Overall, the room was sufficient for our needs, and the location is hard to beat.”

• The heated indoor pool, but it was a bit too cold for me.
• Continental breakfast was muffins.

“We booked this hotel because we knew our 10 year old son would want to spend a lot of time in the pool. The hot tub was nice, and it was very comfortable.”

• Mold and mildew in bath room. Door safety lock loose on door. Not worth the money.

“I am surprised that this is an "AAA Approved" motel. We selected the motel on the basis of AAA. We won't make the same mistake again.”

• Good location within walking distance of restaurants, stores, and other services.
• Older shower with low pressure and surging heat. Some outlets did not work. limited TV channels.

“This hotel offers a good location within a short walking distance of restaurants, convenience stores, and other services. The indoor pool area is nice and the continental breakfast is adequate for travelers and families. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the grounds and facilities are clean and well kept. This facility is an older establishment lacking some modern conveniences but well kept and clean and the rooms are spacious.”
