  • Comfortable clean rooms.
  • Many minor cosmetic flaws in carpet, wallpaper, and decorations.

“Stayed 3 days in Sep 2008. Friendly fast front desk service a+. The restaurant was good (I had breakfast), but expensive 15.99 for the buffet. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, but carpet needed repair, and the tub drain was slow. Common spaces were clean, but also had minor blemishes in the carpet and decor. The pool and hot tub very nice, clean and in good repair (best part of the hotel). The bar was very expensive (7.50 for a Corona beer), with poor service as I only saw the bartender the one time who then promptly disappeared for more than half an hour. I am undecided about staying here again. Ok hotel, but nothing special.”

  • Horrible food, poor service.

“This hotel is in a safe location. It is convenient to the Long Island Railroad, just a short cab ride. The food in the restaurant was almost not eatable. The service was slow and when I complained about the food they wanted to bring more. I declined and they didn't even remove from bill.”

  • Lobby was large, pool was clean, gym was empty and beds were comfy.
  • The guy at the coffee bar could not make a latte and had no sugar free syrup.

  • The room was much smaller than expected.

“A beautiful hotel, in a great location. The room was smaller than I expected, but was clean and fine for our vacation. The pool was great for the kids. The fitness center was perfect for my husband. The hotel was very clean which was super for me!”

  • The staff was extremely friendly.
  • Very run-down looking.

“The staff couldn't have been any friendlier. Unfortunately, this hotel can't compare to the Islandia Marriott, which has the same star rating, but is a much nicer looking hotel. We had requested a fridge for milk, but were given one that didn't work. The hotel staff provided a replacement the next day that worked, but was very scratched and beat-up. My mother's room at the Marriott came with a fridge. In addition, I had to request that they change our bedding the second day because we were given a blanket that had holes in it. The hotel and rooms are dated in and sad need of renovation. The staff, on the other hand, is top-notch.”

  • The staff was excellent - shuttle service was always available.
  • There was no fridge in the room.

“Hotel is very attractive and the staff is excellent. We didn't have to rent a car because the complimentary shuttle service took us to and from airport, to the nearby mall and to the train station (take the train right into Penn station and 34th street). The only negative thing was that our non-smoking room wasn't non-smoking - but they offered us another room, that was a bit better, and we had some left over food from a wedding that we wanted to refrigerator and we couldn't because there was no fridge. Other than that - it was a great price for a Long Island hotel.”

  • The tub in my room could have been cleaner.

“If you're looking for a great place to be with family, the Sheraton in Hauppauge is an excellent option. In addition to the hotel's luxurious quality, the hotel is conveniently located near a myriad of restaurants.”

  • Very helpful staff. Excellent restaurant. Clean pool and hot tub. Fantastic soft beds.
  • Tiny bathroom. View is of the lobby, not the outside. Non-smoking.

“This is basically a business hotel. The room and bathroom were clean/comfortable. Wanted to check my e-mail, but at 60 cents a minute, this seemed pricey, as most hotels provide this service free.”

  • Very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Hotel was very easy to find. Room was nice and big for 2 adults and a toddler.
  • The price of the food was a little ridiculous.

  • The carpet was damped and looked very dirty. I saw a cockroach crawling.

“Disgusting! I did not expect it to be like that. I have been to different hotels in the country and Canada. But this is the most disgusting place I have been to Long Island. First of all, the carpet was very damped. We could not walk barefoot on the carpet. There was a lot of stain. It looked very dirty. I let that go, I thought to myself may be because it was raining. But the next morning, I saw a cockroach crawling by the door. I was so disgusted! That place is really dirty! Another thing, we were on the first floor, they have a backdoor for guest who parked in the back. We got there at 12 morning, the doors were not locked. It was supposed to be a swipe your room key entry, but it was not working. I did not feel safe. That hotel does not deserve a 3 star rating!”

  • The location is very good and the staff is excellent.
  • The cleaning is very poor.

“The hotel does not have enough dining/snacking options especially for weekends. The rooms are large and well appointed. I did not like the carpet. The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the location is very good for almost all the activities on the Long Island.”
