“Closest ice machine was out of order, not enough tables in dining room for all the guests (about 5 tables), Luke warm water for shower which was remedied once mentioned, staff had no knowledge of coupons for money off for local diner.”

“The Travelodge was decent value for a short stay at Newport. The bed and pillows were comfortable (a nice surprise). Two extra pillows were available (my husband & I like two each) and there were plenty of towels provided. Our biggest complaint was the coffee in the breakfast room, little more than coffee, flavored water. Other than this, we would definitely consider staying here next year.”

“Even though it was past 11, when the pool closes, they were still enjoying themselves to the fullest extent at 1:15am when I went to sleep. The following morning, the hotel staff was unsure of who caused damage to the pool and suggested that I had. We were off the property for most of the day and returned that night. When we returned, the hotel clerk was livid and it caused for a very inconvenient turn of events that left the group I was with, and me, completely disgusted with the service and the hotel.”

“It is small but convenient hard to find but near Newport Rhode Island, ok for the night.”

“Excellent hotel. Room was very clean (with the exception of the wrinkly sheets) look like the hotel had a new face lift. Very clean rugs and room even smelled clean. Great location only 10 minutes from Newport and only 5 minutes from major restaurants and shopping. Only draw back was the hallway between the lobby and the hotel rooms had a musty and moldy smell. Other then that very good.”

“The hotel is very much centrally located to destinations in Middletown and Newport, R.I. but the staff was very unaccommodating, and almost blameful. The morning continental breakfast with do it yourself Belgian waffles was one bright spot. I give it 1/2 star.”

“Place was pretty nice. Single room was tiny, not sure how other rooms were. Bed too soft. Need chiropractor now. Help desk was excellent friendly and courteous.”

“We stayed in room 219, it was small and on the corner of the top floor, our only window was to a view of the back yard which consisted of power transformers, over grown weeds, garbage and old power tools strewn about, there was also no screen on the window so bugs and birds could fly in at anytime when we were attempting to get rid of some of the stale smell in the room. The bathroom showed a few attempts of re-decorating, silver shower rod, the mirror frame was painted silver, modern style shower curtain. The maids were very efficient, the garbage were always emptied, we brought our own sheets so they didnt make our bed, they did have a tiny breakfast area in the main lobby with a few tables, do-it-yourself waffle machines, pastries and mini muffins were provided from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. (get there early to avoid waiting in line for the 2 waffle machines) The swimming pool was located in the middle of the parking lot so it wasnt very peaceful or relaxing so we skipped the pool this trip. Parking can also be a problem at night; our spot was always taken when we got back at night. The staff was very friendly, and I can see they try hard to please there customers. I rate this stay a 4 out of 10.”

“We were charged too much for allegedly smoking in a non-smoking room. Neither I nor my partner smoked in the room.”

“Overall the accommodations were adequate for our one stay in Newport, we were attending a wedding in Newport and needed a simple resting place. Travelodge was convenient, low cost, located close to our event and anything we cold have possibly needed was immediately at hand. We were very pleased.”

“This motel you see online is nothing like what the motel is really like. The staff was very unfriendly and the motel is deceiving from the outside. There was a lingering smell of marijuana in our hall and trash sitting outside of rooms at night. It looked like cockroaches could have come through the walls at any given moment. When you put the heat on low, it suddenly becomes over 85 degrees. The lobby had a very strong, disgusting smell to it. There are much nicer hotels down the road at about the same price. Go for them instead. Not a pleasant experience!”

“The staff checked me in courteously and efficiently. The room, though small, was clean and, especially considering the price, fit my needs quite well. The staff was able to answer all my questions regarding internet access, continental breakfast, and checkout policies. I would stay here again.”

“The hotel was at a good location. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Our first night there, we inquired at the front desk of a good local place to eat, and her recommendation was perfect. The breakfast was good, nice selection of foods.”

“The hotel is on a busy commercial street, but it is set back far enough so that noise and fumes aren't a problem. Everything is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's a bit far from downtown, perhaps 15 minutes, but not an unpleasant drive. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The pool is small but nice.”

“Our overall stay was nice. The room was clean, quiet and even had a mini fridge. Besides the check in process and discovering the inaccuracies in their listing we were very satisfied. We would stay there again.”

“I was quite surprised that Travelogues would put their name on a hotel like this. The hotel looks OK from the outside but the rooms are in need of renovations, the upper deck is falling apart and the stairs should be deemed unsafe. The room smelled dirty. It was definitely a place that I would NEVER stay at again.” Amenities at Middletown Travelodge, Newport
