• The decor, although shabby, was beautiful.
• The front-of-house staff and management need intensive training.

“In the right hands this could be a lovely hotel - but the staff were only pleasant up until the point you had a problem and the food was dreadful and often cold. There was no invitation to leave comments, and if you did share any concerns, you were told that no-one else had complained so there couldn't be a problem. This I find hard to believe. Oh and the pool was green and slimy.”

• Convwenient location, reasonably quiet, restaurant food OK (a bit pricey), good breakfast.
• Shower H/C a bit uncontrollable, CH radiator a bit noisy.

• Hotel very conveinently placed, Clean and friendly - breakfast lady very efficient and friendly, but stretched- seemed to be only front of house.
• On booking in Rm key did not work, staff sent me up with different one 3 times!! No remote for TV.

• Services at Breakfast very poor and slow, cot was not provided free of charge ('5 per night) no advanced notice was given of this charge and was a travel cot which was not suitable.

• Ample parking. Efficient and friendly reception staff. Good bar facilities.
• Quality of rooms Smelly drains Satisfactory breakfast but breakfast staff wearing soiled waistcoats. Diabolical toast!

• Easy to find and park. Simple booking-in, bar and checkout procedures. Decent breakfast.
• Quality of shower very moderate. Could not be given a VAT receipt on checkout because the printer was in the office and the office was locked until 9.00 am! Strange organisation really when at least half of the guests probably check out before then.

“Fine and functional at the price. Shower and lack of VAT receipt did not spoil the visit, although they niggled at the time.”
