• Quieter than I expected, good breakfast
• No plug in bathroom.

“Perfectly adequate for the purpose I required (a bed for the night after a Christmas dinner in REading)”

“El alojamiento era el peor sitio donde me he quedado en la vida, y viajo muchfsimo , por trabajo y vacaciones. Les sugiero que, si no quieren perder prestigio, borren ese lugar de su listado de hoteles.”

• One of the (refurbished) room, the very last breakfast, privacy & the distance to town centre were all ok.
• Noise from the kitchen above, front door & car park unsecure, minimal assistance at night, some areas need refurbishing & cleaning.

“The room I checked in on Sunday night was not so good. The receipt handed to me also said ...not refundable without 48hrs cancellation notice before arrival....

On Monday morning, I asked for a refund, the staff suggested to go through www.activehotels.com and he personally cannot guarantee any possible refund. After requesting for a different room, I was shown a much better room which I took up. However, come night time I have to see the staff again in order to have the Central Heating put back on. But, subsequest nights were ok.

The premise would be an excellant stay (especially because of its location) if some areas are redecorated; the parking areas and the front door made more secure; the staff are easily reachable at night.”

• Good location; nice Victorian B&B; great breakfast; friendly service.

“I arrived from the airport at noon, with the plan of dropping my bags and heading off to a business appointment. Check in was not until 1400, but the managers put in a clean, vacant room right away. It's an old place (Victorian) with a lot of charm. It's clear the new business owners are putting a lot of time and effort into restoring it. My stay was very comfortable, the staff was not just polite, they also went out of their way to make you feel relaxed. I will plan to stay here again.”

• friendly, clean and quiet.

“The Guest house is clean and the staff/owners are friendly.
The location is quiet, and there is easy level walking access to the main shopping areas - Broad Street Mall, and approx 10 minutes walk to the Oracle.”

• slow check in key deposit cost to much for what you get

“no welcome pack in room giving any idea of breakfast time
i was not given an ensuite room
impossible to boil kettle safeley as plug sockets otherside of bed against wall,lead not long enough so no flat serface could be reached to boil.
not told a key deposit was required on arrival
i was kepy waiting whilst the manager was answering his phone at the same time as trying to check me in 15 mins or so,when i had had an exausting day and woluld have liked a quicker check in”
