  • Nothing.

  • the breakfast was not bad
  • without question the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

“When I arrived at the hotel with my wife and 2 kids the staff were not very friendly, and there was no-one who would help us with our bags (we had travelled from the US and had a lot of luggage). It took us at least 20 minutes to find our room which, for the price, was tiny and in a very poor state of repair. We could not wait to get out of there.”

  • plenty of facilities
  • the water in our room smelt and it was cloudy also some of the food was terribly tough

“I would have expected more for our money I did not feel the people working there could help as I was only staying overnight but still it was a shock to find poor water condition and no satelite telivision which was promised on your site.”

  • nothing i thought this hotel was awful, dirty and disgusting
  • dirty old expensive for the state of the place - it should not come under brighton hotels as it is not in Brighton

  • Adequate very much in need of an update
  • Dinner was very poor everthing was overcooked, the only thing I found edible was fish

“The swimming pool was out of use, we weren't told didn't know it was buffet eating, thought dinner finished early. The general state of this beautiful art deco hotel was a bit sad, looked after properly it coul be stunning.”

“hotel in need of modernisation with a coat of paint to freshen up rooms which are small and old fashioned”

  • Decor in main part of hotel was dated. Carpet threadbare. Staff on desk not too helpful.

“We booked on line, and your confirmation states payment on checkout - when we arrived at hotel we were told point blank that at this hotel it was payment on arrival or no room.
We booked a double room, but had been allocated a twin room, which meant that we had to change rooms - the staff were not pleased at having to change everything.
The hotel would look so much more inviting if it was cleaned outside (i,e, the gutters were not full of grass etc) and given a coat of paint.
Upon our arrival we were told that the dinning room was open until 8.00pm and that breakfast in the morning was from 7.30 - 9.30am. We were not told how the dining room system worked. Also we were not told where the entertainment would be held. We stumbled upon this by ourselves!
It was also stated that the hotel had free parking - but all the parking available at the front of the hotel was for disabled guests which is fair enough, but we were then told that we had to pay '3.50 per stay to park in the NCP car park at the rear of the hotel.
The position of the hotel was good, being within easy reach of Brighton, so if the hotel was maybe updated a bit then we might come back.”

“We had asked for non-smoking room, but this was not provided - maybe you don't have them? but it would have been nice if you had let us know beforehand.

Nightclub was silly to be split at about 11 between disco and karaoke - just simply not enough people around to have 2 events.”

  • nothing
  • small damp room

“Bleak hotel that urgently needs refurbishing. Unpleasant room, no bath, shower desperately needed attention. Food was horrible - we had to eat out later. We didn't bother with the breakfast as we knew it would be horrible too.

Night porter was aggressive with us for parking near the hotel and was shouting at us - then we found out that he wanted to use the space for himself.”

  • Room very small. Hallways in need of decvoration

“Booked as a budget hotel I did not expect the Ritz. The tiny size of the room and lack of space to unpack/store suitcases mafde the room impractical although I only wanted a bed for the night.”
