It's imposing facade is a noted landmark in the quiet, lower part of Old Sherborne, five minutes leisurely walk from the Abbey and the town's main shopping parade. Typical of a gentleman's residence of that period, the house is spacious light and comfortable. Fresh flowers grace every room. The Eastbury invites relaxation and enjoyment of the finer pleasures of life. The private rooms have been individually decorated and furnished and all have en suite facilities. With the comfort and enjoyment of our guests in mind, each bedroom has remote controlled colour TV offering terrestrial and satellite channels, direct dial telephone and luxury bathrobes. The reputation of our award winning restaurant goes far, far beyond Dorset but we take a particular pride that it also enjoys a strong local affection and regular patronage. Our style basically English, the finest, freshest local ingredients, well prepared and attentively served. Our seafood dishes are as equally highly regarded as our meat - which is somewhat exceptional in the restaurant world. The garden at the Eastbury is an absolute joy. Walled, south facing, an acre in extent with broad lawns and planted with shrubs, trees and hedges it is indeed a peaceful haven in a rushing world. The County of Dorset and Sherborne, its ancient capital, is rich in history, culture and interest - far too much to include in this brief introduction. Where could one start? Stonehenge? The New Forest? Our castles 'old' and the 'new'? built for Sir Walter Raleigh who found the 'old' (even though a gift from his grateful Queen) a bit on the uncomfortable side.
