• quiet, friendly and helpful hosts, lovely garden, fridge and fresh milk, very good breakfast
• shower could have been more powerful

“We were made to feel very welcome on arrival! The room was lovely with a view of the gardens. The hotewl was ideally situated, a walk from town so that we could enjoy the town and escape it!”

• Warm, spacious, excellent food and friendly personel.

“A truly relaxing experience. The owners were very helpful, informative and great company. All aspects of the hotel were exceptional. We could not fault a single thing. Nobody need have concerns when booking at the Carlton Court.”

“The proprietors were pleasant & welcoming and made me feel comfortable. There were lots of small thoughtful touches in the room and hotel. A phone number during booking would have been helpful - once the booking was accepted I was then told breakfast times which were too late for my comference so I had to ring to confirm this would be OK. The phone number was in the confirmation of booking email.”

• Excellent Breakfast with plenty of choices,specially the fresh fruits. Bedroom large and spacious
• Could be a problem when reversing from small hotel car park into the road.

“Although the hotel was excellent the position of the hotel left you with a bit of a hilly walk down to the sea front and town centre.”

• Excelent breakfast and service, parking was adequate,hotel situated in a quiet location. Very clean and tidy.
• The bar/dining room is rather worn and dated, but it is due to be renovated in the near future.

“This is a very friendly hotel and nothing seems too much trouble for the owners, Gerry and Sue. We generally walked into Torquay, early evenings and used a taxi back to the hotel, which cost about '4.

Upon arrival, the weather was rather hot and we were given the use of an an electric fan for the room without asking. Tea and coffee making facilities (inc. biscuits)are also provided. The Hotel offers good value for money.”

• Welcoming, friendly, good breakfast, very clean, quiet location, easy walking distance to harbour and town
• Small car park, but could park on road

“The hotel was charming, set in its own lovely grounds. It was easy to find, situated in a quiet area, yet within easy walking distance of the town and harbour. The pretty room was spotlessly clean, with T.V., en-suite and dressing room with fridge which was very useful. Breakfast was excellent, and cooked-to-order. Overall very friendly, and welcoming - and as a female on my own, I felt very safe and well looked-afer.”

“10 mins walk from seafront, uphill coming back! Very comfortable hotel, staff very accomodating and welcoming.Adequate parking. Excellent breakfast, dinner menu looked excellent and good value but did not have time to try it. Well situated for sightseeing in that area of Devon.”
