“My girlfriend and I were asked in to stay two nights, including New Years Eve, and have to say that we were so impressed with everything about the hotel. We had spotted that the hotel had gone into administration the week before we were due to arrive, and understandably therefore expected the worst, especially read some of the reviews. Admittedly our room was not ready when we were due to check in, but while we waited for half an hour, we were treated to a free round at the bar, and were offered apologies from at least two members of staff. Our room was spectacular and spotless, and incredibly comfortable. We had an amazing dinner on the first night, and sat and happily relaxed in front of the open fire for the rest of the evening. Breakfast was hearty the next morning, and cream tea was served (at no additional cost) mid afternoon on NYE. The 7 course dinner, including several free glasses of champagne, was just great, and all of the staff was professional and courteous throughout our stay. It is such a shame that this hotel has gone into administration and we both really hope that something saves the hotel as we would both like to return and enjoy what is a spectacular setting again. We are going to make sure that we drop a line to the manager to ensure that he knows how much we appreciated his, and his staff's efforts. What an amazing new year we had!”

• Lovely location, ideal for walks.

“We had a fantastic time at this hotel, it really suited our needs. We wanted a nice quiet hotel which we could go on walks from and this hotel was ideal for that as you didn't even have to leave hotel grounds to get to the public paths and walkways. Also close to very quaint Cotswold villages, which had a variety of restaurants, pubs and bars available should you not want to eat at hotel. Highly recommended.”

• The building and gardens were beautiful and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was fantastic, as was the wine list!

“We had a wonderful stay at Wyck Hill and are keen to return again to explore more of the Cotswolds. The hotel reminded by partner and I of a National Trust house in terms of its beautiful formal staircase, paintings, furniture and gardens - it was a unique experience. We would recommend this as the perfect getaway location with great connections to the Cotswolds. The room was very pleasant with extensive views of the countryside and a good bathroom with the all important powerful shower!”

• There is nothing negative to say about our experience with this hotel.

“We arrived very tired after a long day of driving. The staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We had dinner in the hotel both nights, because the food was so well prepared. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a relaxing stay in the Cotswolds.”

“Great place to relax away from city life. Lovely big room with the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. Could not fault the staff who were so friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The 4 star rating is about right for the accomodation but the staff deserve higher!”
