This former Victorian mansion, which for many years in the last century was a maternity hospital, became the original Celtic Manor Hotel in 1982 and won the Egon Ronay award for best hotel in Wales in five consecutive years.
The Manor is a beautiful sandstone building with the original Georgian lead windows, wooden panelled walls and sweeping wooden staircase adorned with a backdrop of leadlight glass. Ornate ceiling plasterwork is complemented with the traditional English style country interior. The Manor House also offers the option of a four poster bedroom for those special occasions. A roaring fire is available in winter in both the Lounge Bar and Sitting room and allow guests to relax and have a drink prior to dinner in the Patio Brasserie. Hedleys is available for private functions and has a traditional dining room feel with highback wooden chairs, two 1800's marble fireplaces and wooden panelling throughout. Manor House guests are given complimentary use of the Forum Health Club facilities, located in The Celtic Manor Resort, which annexes the Manor House.[less]
