The Columba nestles on the banks of the River Ness, close to the city centre yet still on the quiet side of the river. There are views from the front of the hotel looking over the Ness and up to Inverness Castle. In the summer you can look out over the beautiful floral decoration which surrounds the Castle itself; in the winter the trees which line Ness Walk are decked with fairy lights which shimmer on the water as the Ness flows towards the Moray Firth. Of course, with an outlook like this it makes sense to take advantage of it! The conference suite in the Columba Hotel can be found on the first floor. As you would expect from a building dating back to 1881, the suites feature ornate high ceilings and large bay windows offering plenty of natural light. To maintain the fresh, airy atmosphere all the rooms are fully air conditioned. The hotel itself has been completely refurbished with decor that combines traditional comfort with contemporary style. At street level you'll find John Macnabs Bistro & Bar - featuring a 'hunting lodge' feel, menus at John Macnabs offer dishes of fresh local produce prepared to a very high standard. Great location, nicely decorated. Room was well appointed.

“First class hote. Live musinc in the bar a real bonus. Not getting Shampoo supplied in the bathroom was a bit of a surprise and a little more advance information on internet connection would have been appreciated by me personally.
Food was good. Haggis and black pudding were the only let downs though Sunday's Black pudding was much better and looked like it was from a different supplier.”

“My wife Carol and I enjoyed our short stay in Inverness. It was all and more than was expecteded. The location of the hotel was excellent with all the main shops and entertainment within walking distance. The duty manager on wednesday night 15th December was very friendly,informative and had excellent communication skills.
We found the hotel warm, very clean with well groomed and curtious staff.”

Locality.
The 3.00 p.m. check-in.

“I would have liked to have known about the 3.00 p.m. check-in and made arrangements accordingly. However, I had to hang around for three hours as I am used to 12 noon check-ins. We were allowed to leave our bags but it was just in the general reception area along with other bags and didn't seem too secure.”
