• Location was okay.
• Poor hospitality.

“The Waterside Inn in Inverness put us in a room directly over their big event hall for two nights when it had scheduled very loud parties directly underneath us. Our grown daughters occupied a room with a window on the courtyard and they too were disturbed by rowdy party-goers spilling out into the patio right under their window in the wee hours of the morning. After our first night of almost no sleep, we asked the management kindly if they could move us to rooms farther from the venue (we saw to our dismay that they were setting up for another party). They flat-out refused. My husband then asked if they would try to help us find other rooms in other hotels (we had prepaid for our stay, but we were desperate), but they said they wouldn't do that either. We looked for other accommodations on our own, but we were new to the area and it was a busy weekend in Inverness - every other place we saw was full. So we were stuck. We had to suffer through another night of the exact same thing (the bass from the music both nights was so loud that our room actually vibrated with the sound. I am not kidding). Needless to say, we were very upset the next day. It seems to me to be a breach of decent hospitality for the Waterside (or any hotel) to assign guests to rooms above a venue that they are not attending. And it is the height of rudeness to refuse compassionate assistance or reasonable alternatives when guests are clearly distressed. So be warned: the Waterside is definitely not a suitable or desirable booking on weekends (or maybe not at all).”

• Easy to find with car parking
• First room offered was very small with leaking shower after complaining I was moved into a larger room which was adequate.

• excellent location. Bar and restaurant were very attractive. Very clean. Good food.
• shower was a bit oldfashioned.

“Our waiter on Sunday morning was great. He was very friendly and efficient. We found some of the other staff a bit unhelpful. We tried to book a table on Saturday and were told there would be no table until 9.15 pm. There were plenty of empty tables when we went out to eat elsewhere and plenty of empty tables when we returned several hours later. We felt that with a bit of will we could have been accomodated.I would recomend this hotel to others as it was clean, the breakfasts were good (we never got the chance to try an evening meal although the menu looked great) and the location was perfect.”

• Restaurant very good food dinner and breakfast
• Poor parking facilities, non english speaking waitresses, spartan room, uninviting bath facilities

“The restaurant and setting was excellent. If the room decor had been better and the bathroom less uninviting the stay would have been good as opposed to adequate. Some of the staff were extremely helpful, but some appeared to be foreign and not have total knowledge of the English language”

• Food/breakfast was super and staff were very helpful and friendly.

“Very young staff who were all friendly and prepared to take the initiative when talking to guests which was good without their being pushy. centrally located and good parking and the menu read very nicely although we were only able to have breakfast because of prior commitments. Will certainly consider using the hotel again if we are back in Inverness. Also very good value for money.”
