• Very close to King's Cross Station (but still quiet!), good price for London
• shower mounted on bathroom wall with drain on floor - no shower stall/curtain

“My husband and I stayed at Crestfield hotel as an overnight stop from a late plane in from Italy and our long flight back to the States the following afternoon.

That being said, we weren't there long, but Crestfield hotel was acceptable for what we nee”

• New fixtures and fittings,basic but nice, brilliant for a budget hotel, good staff, breakfast good.
• Paper thin walls, renovations still happening early morning - noisy.

“This is excellent value for money hotel, apart from the high noise levels. the walls are thin, you can hear other people chatting or tv noise (but then other people can be very inconsiderate and dont even try and be quiet!) but the worst bit was that they are still doing renovations within the hotel, and waking up to drilling and banging isn't very pleasant! But I would recommend this hotel - they wont be drilling and banging forever! Excellent value for money and well located near KX tube station.”

• Clean towels, comfortable beds, 24-hour front desk, secure
• Narrow hallways, no lift, no shower curtain, phone was out of order, no alarm clock

“It was my first time in London, so I had no idea what to expect. The room was small, but definitely suited my needs. The location was fine; right across the street from the tube station. I'm not sure what was in walking distance, but I had a week-pass on the tube, so it was eay to get around the city. It was very unfortunate to not have an alarm clock in the room, especially when I was 5 hours outside of my usual time zone! I didn't get a chance to use the 24-hour bar and I forgot about the internet access! The bar seemed really nicely set up though (With a HUGE television). The staff was extremely polite. The room was cleaned daily and fresh new towels were always provided. The breakfast was good (cereal, toast, juice, coffee/tea, fruit), although it was pretty early (7:30-9am). I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to others!”

• Poor continental breakfast, strictly finished at 9.

• spacious room and clean with plenty of storage space.
• room was situatied under the stairs so noisy. Also noisy water / heating system

“staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was well equiped and towels were provided. Unfortunately niether the window or the door could be secured from the inside. I was assured though that these problems would be recitfied and the manager welcomed all feedback. The dining room was clean and the waiting staff attentive but breakfast was only toast and cereal, really missed full english!. Coffee served with breakfast not good!, but plenty of coffee in your room. Bags looked after, after check out, but not secure. Nice bar area. Room was noisy as situatied under the stairs and next to dining area. Also water in radiator very noisy so had to be turned off. Generally though very good value for money for a one night stop over.”

“Das Hotel liegt zentral aber ohne grosse LSrmbelastung. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein aber sauber. Das Preis- LeistungsverhSltnis stimmt. Das Frnhstnck besteht nur aus Cornflakes und 3 Stk. Toast pro Person.”

• Excellent Location. All basic facilities available.
• Hotel overbooked twin basic rooms. However, they upgraded us to double en-suite because it was their fault.

“This hotel is exactly what I would expect for such a low price. Excellent location for central London - over the road from Kings X. TV/tea&coffee making facilities/shower with hot water available at all times. Friendly staff who upgraded our room to double en-suite when they mistakenly overbooked the twin rooms.”

• Although basic and quite small, rooms were clean and tidy. Very peaceful at night.
• The breakfast is a bit monotonous if one stays for a longer period.

“Altogether, very good value for money. Everything is very basic, nothing special, but just right for someone just looking for a peaceful, clean place to stay and does not want to spend too much money on accommodation, because won't spend too much time in the hotel room anyway.”

• Clean and tidy.
• Power shower didn't work properly, low water pressure problem.

“Good clean hotel but I was halfway out the door after forgetting to pay and the desk clerk called me back but I felt he was a bit cheeky about it. I have forgotten to pay at numerous hotels over the years and they are always very nice about it, after all isn't that why hotels take the card details in the first place? I felt like I was a great train robber. That incident, admitedly my fault, marred an otherwise good visit.”

• Clean, basic but comfortable. Liked Jack the dog best!
• Bathroom very small, but this was expected.

“I was looking for a cheap hotel near Kings Cross/St Pancras and Islington as my boyfriend and I were going to a party there. Other cheaper hotels in the area had terrible reviews.

This hotel did the job. The room as clean and comfortable and yes, the bathroom was small, but then that was expected at only '60 for the night.

I can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't get up in time!

Added bonuses were the 24 hr bar, outside terrace and Jack the dog. I would recommend this hotel and I'd stay here again.”

• Convenient location and very comfortable bed!
• The breakfast and the breakfast staff left alot to be desired!

“Good value for money - the location is convenient, street parking is easy, the room is adequate (more ambient lighting such as bedside lights would be nice), the bed extremely comfortable and the staff on reception very friendly and welcoming. However, I recomend skipping the breakfast as this is practically non-existent - the choice consists of cereal or white toast and the request for tea was met with a questioning look as the girl serving did not understand or speak English.”

• oone of the cheapest I could find. Thats about it.
• No hto water for shower, narrow staircase, room wasnt maintained anough, shabby, noisy, area didnt look very safe.

• shower didn't work and had to use communal one

“Cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for. Adequate for a few nights wouldn't want to stay longer though. Very convienient for Kings X as well.”
