“This hotel is ideal for people travelling to London on a budget. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was good and very prompt. The location of this hotel i.e. right outside Kings Cross Station might make you thin”

“this was a basic no frills hotel, great if you're just staying a night and want somewhere to put your head. the room was basic, but clean, but we would have liked to have seen tea and coffee facilities there. walls very thin so you could hear what other people around the hotel were doing. brilliant location, and some great take-aways nearby.”

“bed/linen/towels very clean. Bed base and mattrasses left a lot to be desired. By 0745hrs NO HOT WATER AVAILABLE TO SHOWER/SHAVE WITH. At breakfast we were served with 4 peices of toast and cooked breakfast, we had to ask for the cooked food for our child (6yr old) as though we were not entitled to be served with it. My coffee was also served cold and tea leaves went out with the ark. We had to share our breakfast table with a unknown male resident. BUT THIS IS LONDON.”

“The Rooms are small but adequate, sink is contained within the bedroom, en suite comprises of toilet and shower built into converted Cupboard Space. We had to walk three flights of Stairs, to our Room, Cooked Breakfast comprises of One Slice of Bacon One Egg and the plate is covered in Beans, Tea or Coffee and Toast.
There is nothing in the General Area of Kings Cross, just a Burger King and a McDonalds, there are no local Bars to pass a couple of hours. I would not describe the Howard Winchester as a Hotel, it is more like a Bed and Breakfast.”

“This hotel is basic but friendly. It is an older building but is clean, and presentable. you are free to come and go as you please at any time. A cooked breskfast is served very promptly. The reception staff are very helpful. luggage can be left on the last day to make your day out easier. The only thing I found difficult is not having a kettle in the room, as a cup of tea on return from a freezing day out would have been helpful, and cheaper than getting takeaway ones down the road! There are loads of food outlets within yards.”

“Convenient, no-frills hotel located in a typical but quiet London square, convenient for all central London transport connections. Room was clean and the breakfast adequate. The service realised that the people using the hotel had come to London for London and not to be ripped-off on un-necessary frills. Web site and hotel are now book-marked for future reference.”

“The hotel looks nice as you walk in. The room they put us in at first, was a quad room when we had asked for a twin. This was not a problem. We went down into the basement room down a set of stairs that were falling apart beneath us. We got into the room and noticed the window lock was broken. The curtains were hanging off the rail and the sheets were dirty, even though the beds had been made. They then agreed to move us to another room. This room was not too bad although the shower had no handle on the inside and so someone else had to close the door behind you, also the bottom of the shower door was missing and so water was leaking all over the carpeted floor. Apart from this, it was OK.”

“Considerando che in albergo andavo solo per dormire e fare colazione, nel complesso non mi lamento. Avrei preferito maggiori dettagli per quanto riguarda il bagno in camera. La foto non rende l'idea. Io avevo prenotatu una camera con due letti e bagno in camera (poco accogliente), non posso fare per= paragoni con eventuali camere matrimoniali”

“Rooms are small as all budget hotels I've visited in London. Steep stairs. Quite poor sound insulation, You here other residents in their rooms. Surprisingly good was the heating system with a warm room and 2-glass windows. The toilet with the shower was also good. Enough hot water for your showers. Breakfast was continental or english, and You get enough to eat.
All in all a pleasant stay.”

“Upon arriving the lady at the desk was very curt and not helpful. Being placed in a room at the top of a very long staircase, leaving me unable to breath properly, (I'm 50 and not well enough for that sort of climb). There were no refreshment facitilies in the room even though it was stated on the web site that the room contained tea/coffee equipment. As I knew I wouldn't be able to climb the stairs again, I had no choice other than to remain in the room until I left the following morning.
I will not be staying in your establishment again.”

“This hotel is perfectly okay for a one night stay. The receptionist was friendly. The hotel's rooms and corridors are, however, tiny and claustraphobic and on a scale that fans of Japanese 'capsule' hotels would appreciate.
It seemed clean but shabby. The walls are very thin and single glazing if you do get a window means there is a lot of street noise.
Don't expect a relaxed breakfast either. The food itself was very nice despite being served by a hilariously terse waitress whose main aim was to get rid of us as quickly as possible.
Not somewhere I would stay again considering what else is available at a similar price but okay if you need somewhere near convenient rail links.”

“The Howard Winchester offers very affordable prices for accomodation in central London. It's very close to Kings Cross station (1 minute walk) so you can get to almost any place of interest within a very short time. On the other hand it is not too close to the main street so there's almost no traffic noise.”
