  • staff were friendly. It was good value for money.

“The staff were very helpful. The hotel perhaps needs a bit of smarting up. I would have liked to have been informed how far along the promenade it was. As it turned out it was quite a distance from the Ferry Terminal.”

  • Comfortable furniture and well maintained linnen / towels.
  • Ventilation of public spaces, especially the lift, could be better.

“Although public transport was readily available access for parking a car could have been a problem later in the season. Greater detail on the location of the hotel relative to other fetures would have been useful.”

  • Staff were helpful and friendly; good breakfast.
  • In desperate need of refurbishment.

“This hotel is in desperate need of a revamp. The room was a throwback to the 70s in terms of decor, tired, battered and very outdated. The towels, bed-sheets and even the eiderdown had holes in them. The kettle was broken. The bath had dirt under the taps and handles. The hotel bar is straight off the reception so to get in and out of the hotel you have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke. Either they don't have any non-smoking rooms or they ignored my request at the time of booking for a non-smoking room (the hotel was virtually empty so they can't have all been full).

On the plus side, the staff were helpful and friendly, the English breakfast was pretty good considering it was included in the room rate.

Overall, very poor value for money (which you expect on the Isle of Man) but I'd rather sleep in the car than stay here again.”
