  • Good position, good size room, pleasant surroundings.
  • Rather tired, uneven floor, poor lighting, basic bathroom. We prefer duvets.

“Reasonably comfortable but not up to the standard we would expect for the money.”

  • The room was big, and I liked having a separate living area. The ensuite facilities were confortable and clean and the staff were a tremendous help as well as friendly and approachable

“For those travelling by rail, I suggest a map as I found it a little difficult to reach at first. The rooms although spacious were very basic, however this isn't necessarily a bad thing as all ammenities were comfortably provided for. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much for them. Although I didn't try the restaurant food, I would be tempted to on a return visit as the menu looked delicious.”

  • Central location, car parking, staff
  • very uncomfortable bed, average breakfast

“Lady Anne's is in a very good location and provides car parking, at a premium in York. Unfortunately my stay was spoiled by a very uncomfortable(worn out?) bed, so for this reason I would hesitate to stay there again.”

  • The rooms were aggod size and the service was friendly.
  • Some information about the history of the hotel woulf be interesting.

“Enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. It was a good fit with the ambience of York. Very well located for exploring the city on foot and handy to the railway station.”

  • It fely better than a 2 star hotel and a late bar on a Sunday.
  • Can't fault anything.

“Just very impressed with how nice the building was, the room was comfortable and warm. The grounds were nice. The woman that signed me in was incredibly nice. I really can't fault it. If I ever stay in York again I will stay there. I'm sorry I didn't check in earlier.”

  • Restaurant/beakfast area

“Very good location and good value. Rooms slightly older decor but hotel sympatheically built around old buildings.”

  • The evening meal in the hotel was good The grounds were well laid out The hotel was well positioned to explore York but I thought that the charge of 20p for a map of the city was a bit petty

“If I had realised that the accommodation was so spread about, I would not have booked this hotel”

  • Comfortable quiet & relaxed

“The staff were friendly and attentive. The location of the hotel was ideal for visiting the attractions and historical sites around York.
We enjoyed our two day break and will visit again.”

  • Hotel was comfortable and good location for city centre. Evening dinner had good choices and was good value.

“A reasonable hotel, which generally lived up to expectations - being picky one could fault a couple of areas of service. Menu choice was good and food was good - both presentation and quality.”

  • heating didn't work very well quite noisy outside not the fault of the hotel wasn't aware that children couldn't use the pool

“Friendly staff, easy to find and very close to centre of York shopping (5 minutes walk over bridge and you're there!)Ideal place to stay with children my daughter loved the big fish pond at the entrance. Limited parking but evryone seemed to fit in somehow! Pool not for use of children was not made clear on web site”

  • The location. It was central to York city centre. What was also good was that the hotel allowed us to keep the car in the carpark after we had checked out.
  • The room was quite disappointing for the price we had paid.

“Generally the hotel was ok. The location could not be faulted, central to the sites of York. However, the rooms had more of a 'nursing home' feel than a hotel room. The decor was dated and the room was stuffy. The parking was also very limited.”
