“I went to this bib for one night only. I found that staff at booking in, when ordering drinks and when dining there very unfriendly. Only using bare minimum conversation necessary to take orders. The breakfast time was appalling. Ten people saying and one person doing the waiting on, taking orders and the cooking. We went down for breakfast at 0830hrs and got a cup of tea by 0910hrs. The food in the evening was good, the breakfast time it wasn't good at all and all around people were leaving their hot breakfast and sticking with the toast. There were two chefs on the evening smoking in a wooden shed in full view of the guests, and seemed to be there forever, glad it was a quiet nice I suppose. There was one man who was behind the bar in plain clothes who appeared chatty? The owner shame it could not rub off on the staff. The room was basic and backward but clean. The heating system left allot to be desired! I would not go again and would not recommend it.”

“Our stay was wonderful. The accommodation was beautiful and idyllic location and buildings. The staff were extremely freindly and very accommodating. We felt both comfortable and relaxed and the general attitude was that nothing was any trouble, a great d”

“Room was a little on the small side, but scrupulously clean. Tea/coffee making facilities generous. The staff were really obliging.Would definitely consider a return visit.”

“This was a lovely hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent with a varied menu for all tastes. The rooms were well equiped but there was no heater (or I couldn't find it) and it would have made my stay more comfortable at the start of February. Very comfortable bed gave a great nights sleep. I would recommend this quaint old Inn to anyone but ask the staff how to get that heater working in the winter.”

“Would have liked to have received confirmation of booking by e-mail as promised, had to contact the hotel by phone to make sure our booking had been taken, even though it was booked over the internet.”

“Pretty setting in quiet rural village - very relaxing - just the sort of thing for a night away from the city”
