• Its kept its traditional features and has a lovely warm atmosphere.
• Didn't like walking up the bank from the town to hotel.

“My husband and I went to Well wood House for Saturday 1st November 2008 with our two friends so that we could visit the Enchanted Forest. The hotel was in a very close proximity to the town centre. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay. The rooms were fabulous with plenty of character and immaculately clean. They were very warm and cozy for the time of year. The entrance lobby participated in the Halloween theme and looked great. There was an honesty bar which is something I have never experienced before. The highlight of our stay was breakfast the following morning. There was a choice of cheeses and muffins, or the traditional Scottish. Needless to say we went for the traditional and weren't disappointed. I would recommend this hotel and will certainly be going back.”

• The warm fiendly staff & comfortable surroundings
• nothing

“A very enjoyable stay, made even more enjoyable by the friendly atmosphere engendered by the owner, his wife & all the staff. Loved the wood fire in the guests lounge.

The only downside maybe that by giving it a glowing recommendation, we ourselves may not be able to get in next time for the crowds.”

• Friendliness of staff. No starch on bedding. Pleasant accommodation.
• Breakfast served too early.

“The hotel was very good in all aspects, however it would have been nice to know that the shops didn't open on a Sunday, als the train times to the larger cities.”

• Beautiful location - all areas immaculate and a friendly team

“This was a fantasic venue - lovely public rooms and well appointed bedrooms. The provision of ensuite facilities and a bathroom adjacent was ideal !”
