  • Beautiful hotel and within good distance to Bullring etc Clean and Tidy.
  • Very noisy at night from road and other rooms.

“The building is beautiful and although set in rather rundown surroundings it is very close to the Bullring and Irish and Chinese quarters which was great. Long breakfast (7.30am til 10am) times were also very helpful. All staff were very pleasant and he”

  • The staff were very helpful and polite.
  • The fact that the hotel resturant wasnt open, caused problems and more expense! We should have been informed.

“That the hotel was in a built up area of factorys and warehouses and no resturant was available to us, so we had extra expense to get a taxi to town for a meal. This caused problmes because our group came from all over the country and we had to wait for memebers to arrive before we could plan a meal out. We were not told the resturant wouldnt be open but was informed that a coach party had booked a meal for 7pm so obvioulsy you did have a chef in the place! Due to this out group will not be using yur hotel again.”

  • Nice hotel, room was nice and clean, comfy bed
  • Dodgy neighbourhood but that can't be helped!

“Possibly more detailed explanation of just how far it is to the city centre is needed. 'A five minute' walk is a bit decieving as the neighbourhood was not the sort you'd like to walk in and it was actually quite far from New Street to the hotel itself.
Nice hotel though pretty cheap, i'd say good value for money but i only stayed one night so there isn't really much i can say about the hotel staff or facilities.”

  • bed linen was clean
  • whole place seemed to be lacking TLC.
Bar staff and breakfast staff seemed disinterested.

“Rooms were on the small size.
Location of hotel was rather industrial.

We did not realise there would be a charge for secure parking.”

  • Clean, comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff. Good value for money.
  • N/A

“Enjoyed our stay. Found the hotel to be exactly what we required. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Hotel is situated a short taxi ride from railway station & cinema. Staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. The only improvement I can suggest is that it would have been helpful to have been able to check in earlier as when we arrived our room was not ready. Will stay here again in the future.”

“I have stayed at the hotel on three occasions now over the past couple of months, its a hotel that has the charm of a good three star hotel in the publc areas however rooms are basic bur for an odd night”

  • the hotel was a bargain, very fairly priced and great service
  • Directions to hotel could be much clearer.

“i booked this hotel last minute and was very satisfied with the services i received for my money. The location was still central even though not in the heart of Birmingham.”

  • Cant think of anything I liked about it. Staff were nice
  • Room size too small, shower mouldy, food unimaginative and not very nice, one lift wasnt working, the other full and had to wait for ages.Whole place smelt especially the lift area of the toilets.

“I was totally dissatisfied with the whole experience - I booked 3 rooms in total and we all have the same opinion that we would never stay again. There are at least 15 members of staff that stay in Birmingham while working at the NEC if this had proved to be a good or even average hotel I would have recommended using it regularly. Also I book online and was quoted '40 per night but was charged '45 adding insult to injury.”

  • Warm, Clean, Ample Refreshements (tea/coffee), good food in hotel bar and breakfast is great.
  • Car parking should be within the cost of the accommodation not an additional charge.

“The only down fall was the fire evacuation we had to do on sunday 13th at 9.30am(ish) when we were on our way to breakfast. This also happened the last time i stayed on sunday 28th Nov at 7.30am. Just unlucky i suppose. Made a huge queue for breakfast after!!!”

  • Having young children....the availabilty of interconnecting rooms
  • Rooms were clean but smelt musty family room constitutes 2adults 1child not family friendly

“Your manager was more concerned about the large party that arrived just as we did. He was not rude neither was he couteous when he asked me to move aside so he could deal with their booking. '90 is not the same as ''''' but my family and I were customers just as was the the large party. I don't think he realised what he did as he was pre-occupied with creating a good impression for his guest.
Inspite of that we would visit again but without the children”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[8] •

  • LOCATION GOOD FOR CENTRAL B'HAM EASY TO CHECK IN AND OUT
  • BATHROOM POOR

“GOOD, OR AT WORST OK BUT FOR THE BATHROOM IN ROOM 116. IMAGINE YOURSELF USING A SHOWER WITH THE SHOWER HEAD MOVING AROUND WITH THE WATER PRESSURE AND SPRAYING WATER OUTSIDE THE CUBICLE WHILST READING AN INSTRUCTION TO KEEP THE CURTAIN INSIDE THE TRAY TO PREVENT THIS. JUST LOOKING AT IT DOES NOT REVEAL THE WHOLE PROBLEM. MANAGEMENT SHOULD STRIP OFF AND TRY IT.”

  • The beds were comforable and the room was warm and clean.
  • Poor public rooms and indifferent staff. Badly organized car parking.

“I would have liked to have known that the hotel's resources would have been devoted to private parties. Also that had I arrived later than I did, then it would have been impossible to park my car. The elevator didn't work to my floor and it was only possible to get a meal in the bar, that was filled with smokers and my meal was accompanied by too loud music. However, the food was very good and the bar staff polite and professional.”
