• The receptionist kindly loaned us a yellow pages to look elsewhere.
• Everywhere was very dirty and it smelt ghastly.

“Booked over Internet based on the photos. On arrival, car park lamp posts smashed and area in darkness, dimly lit derelict looking building, dingy reception with dead plants in a trough, plaster peeling from walls, jaded decor, very depressing sight. Room heated to 30 degrees with pungent smell of dirt. Single quilt on double bed with a brown stain (hopefully tea!). Single beds for children very worse for wear with saggy mattresses. Food and drink stained welcome folder and a bathroom well let's not go there! All surfaces were dusty and the carpet had not seen a how ever for years. Very over priced at A#80.10 for a Gritty b&b. Go elsewhere.”

“the hotel and it's staff were all we required for our trip to birmingham. the accomodation was clean and spacious the staff helpful at all times. the taxi service booked through the hotel was very good”

• Family room was excellent. Spacious and clean.
• Loud music on Saturday evening. No restaurant on Sunday evening.

“Felt that the family room should not be above the bar. The loud music did not go on until too late (about 11.30pm I think), however, this would have been a problem if you had young children.
Although there were no restaurant facilities on Sunday evening, the staff did accomodate us by sending for take away and supplying us with plates and cutlery.”

• everything was so quick and easy -excellent service- bed was vey comfortable
• we found the room was too hot for us and we could not get it any cooler

“We cannot fault the hotel - the reception or the service
the only comment i can make is that we found the restaurant menu a bit restrictd if like us you did not like spicy foods - apart from that i would certainly stay with you again.”

• No heating in room as broken

“Overall we did enjoy our stay, although the heating didn't work in our room, staff were quick to help us.
Hotel is situated near town centre which is useful”

• comfortable Beds, good sized room, adequate beds for grown up family
• Noisy fan in bathroom. Loud music on friday night until after 12.00 midnight

• The room was clean & warm
• Stairs not easy to access with luggage. Restaurant informal like a canteen amosphere. Staff could have tried to communicate and smile a little more. Banging doors throughout night.

“I was happy with the accommodation and I think it was reflected in the price what to expect.
The room was clean and warm. Only problem were banging doors at variours times throughout the night.
Accessability to rooms should be made clear as there is no lift and two flights of stairs to negotiate.
Restaurant okay but reminded me of a canteen and the food was reasonable.”

• very large rooms and clean a very nice looking hotel inside and out.
• none i will be back again

“easy to get to very clean. staff are helpful when you ask them somthing ie directions to a place/room/good pub etc.we will book this hotel at this time every year from how on as we go to the nec/model exabition thank you.”

• Both lights over the pictue and the writing desk had no bulbs fitted, only one of the bedside lamps worked. The handle to flush the toilet was hanging out of the wall as was the shower head.

“I think I would of liked a room with lights that worked and toilet flushes and shower fitmwents that did not hang out of the wall.”

• staff very friendly = they promptly dealt with out queries and requests for equipment
• location of hotel/bedroom

“The room allocated was at street level at the side of a very busy road. We felt unable to open windows due to security issues and thought that the noise of traffic was unbearable through the night”
