“due to refurbishment work (of which I was not warned in advance) only one lift out of two working. this problem was exacerbated at breakfast as stairs down to basement dining room were closed so the one remaining lift was the ONLY access, thus resulting in ridiculously long wait to get to breakfast. otherwise generally good.”

“Ignore other reports, they did put me off a little bit. The Queens was a lovely hotel in a nice refurblished room and pleasant efficient staff. We had no problems and really enjoyed being in a lovely hotel right in the centre of Leeds. Only drawback was the noise at 3am but wasn't anything to complain about. Would recommend for anyone wanting a central Hotel with a bit more than a Travellodge in the centre of Leeds.”

“I must admit prior to my stay I was a little concerned about the reviews of the accomodation. The Queens is quite rightly regarded as one of the best hotels in Leeds, but reviews of slipping standards did concern me. I arrived at the hotel at 11 a.m. and was pleased that my early arrival did not concern the staff of the hotel. The car was taken away by the valet parking attendant with minimal fuss. The cost of '10 was not excessive, but perhaps should be included in the price of the accommodation. My room was nice, but small. On the plus side it did have a mini bar and was generally a step above similar priced accommodation. All in all it was a very pleasant experience. Upon checking out I had a lovely conversation with one of the receptionists and left the hotel with a smile on my face, a perfect end to the whole experience!”

“The hotel was idealy located for my needs. I was having laser eye surgery with Ultralase. Maybe you could have an arrangement with them to have you as there reccommended hotel for patients that are travelling from afar. Hotel food was excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful.”

“After reading a few negative reviews about the general repair of the building and tired rooms I was concerned about my choice, but when I saw the extremely well refurbished room I was extremely happy. The rooms have been done up to an extremely high standard. The location is perfect for a weekend in Leeds.
One small thing - the Active Hotels web site mentioned check out time to be 12 o'clock and the Hotel information booklet says 11am.
I would gladly stay again!!”

“I am sorry to say that I could not recommend your hotel to anyone because of the poor state of the building plus furnishings.
But can i just say that the staff were very friendly and helpful.”

“'Graduation package' was very good value. Hotel could emphasise proximity to station more - it was very handy, but not particularly noisy given the busy position in the City square. Enjoyable brief stay.”

“Excellent to be able to park at hotel, although very expensive for one night.
Had a refurbished room, theme not my style, quite dark and dull. Most hotels going for light and contemporary, so was surprised Queen's had gone for show type theme? Also, the windows badly need double glazing to stop the noise - whether you're at the front or back of the hotel, there's noise from trains or people at night. Appreciate it's central location though.”
