Elgant, modern furnishings. Details such as room names & descriptions and the relaxed atmoshpere
“The hotel is a subtle blend of traditional and contemporary, the result being 'a hotel with a difference'. Being in the interior design business, I found it nice to see modern decor being used effectively in a traditional, stately home environment.
The bar and restaurant were extremely elegant yet relaxed and the variety and standard of the cuisine was excellent. It felt more exclusive that other, more expensive hotels I have visited.”
All over high standard of cleanliness, and comfort. Great bedroom/bathroom and breakfast.
Hodden room has light on outside all night-if you like sleeping in the dark.
“The hotel is not that easy to find in the rain and dark, as the sign is not very well lit. It is though worth finding. The rooms are very well appointed, and very comfortable. We were in Hodden room, which was quiet large, and had a wonderful en-suite with airstream bath and shower. All the rooms are different. This room is over the main entrance, and the light is on all night, this did not cause us any problems, but does mean that the room is not pitch black. The breakfast is included, and well worth getting up for. The staff are very helpful. Just remember to get a code to get out of the car park. No complaints at all, we're going to stay here next time we are in the area.”
