The historic Great House main building sits atop a hillside overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Christiansted Harbor. The resort is constructed around building which dates to 1653; its architecture and history reflect the rich heritage of St.Croix. The beaches were beautiful, the staff was very friendly, and it was very clean.
Outside of the hotel there is not much to do.

“This is a great honeymoon or family resort with breathtaking views of the ocean. There are two beautiful beaches and a pool overlooking the water. There are a bunch of activities offered on the beaches including kayaking, great snorkeling, and volleyball. The staff is very friendly and is willing to do anything to make you happy. It is very clean and there are three restaurants on the property. The Terrace has decent food, but the Grotto Grill and the grill at Mermaid Beach are great places to grab a bite to eat at lunch. The shuttles are great for getting around. I highly recommend taking a trip to Buck Island. The water is AMAZING!! Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the buccaneer and I definitely recommend it.”
