“I stayed on the first floor with my friend and the first thing I noticed was that the hotel windows are unable to be locked! I checked with my other friend's room and they also had windows that were unable to be locked in any fashion. They did have the security of living on the 4th floor however. But in our case, any person can just essentially slide the window open from the exterior of any room on the first floor (or any floor if anyone is foolish enough). I definitely felt unsafe, considering I slept right next to the window itself. There were two beds in the room I stayed at; one in the actual area where you first walk into and the second bed had its own room. I slept in the walk in room and this was alright I suppose. It was only made tolerable by keeping the AC on all night to keep the room cool enough to sleep. Outside the window in plain view was the pool, random plants, and a very bright light that acted as my nightlight. For those who require absolute darkness when they sleep (like myself), consider turning away from that or bring a cover to cover your eyes. One thing I noticed after sleeping in that bed for several nights is that room service does not change the sheets or pillows I believe. Under the covers, I noticed a specific mark/tear in the sheets and remembered what it looked like. To test to see whether or not room service actually changes the sheets, I looked for that same mark in the sheets and realized they do not change it at all when they come in to "clean"! It seems like all they do is make your bed and that is it. I found this to be quite surprising and revolting. I do not know if they clean sheets and pillows in between guests, but I know for certain that they did not change my sheets or pillows throughout that week. Another huge problem I had was with the bathroom. The placement of the toilet was literally right next to the shower and shower door. There was a definite lack in seating area and you had to angle yourself and your feet away from the shower door area to properly be able to sit down and do your business. At first it was very uncomfortable to even go about my business, but after awhile it came easier. The shower head also does not have differing/variable spray patterns. It is either very strong or off. Be prepared to have your skin sandblasted with high pressure water (if it even works). The second day I was there, we had no water whatsoever and had to use our purified water jugs to brush our teeth with. Lastly, do not leave your doors open for any extended amount of time. We found a very large cockroach stumbling in and around our room (near my bed too!) before I was about to sleep, and that definitely made things uncomfortable and unsettling. I eventually removed the pest and was paranoid for awhile to see if there were more. Overall, this was a budget room and we got what we paid for. I honestly would have gladly paid a bit more for a more comfortable room and living accomodations.”
