  • The hotel was very clean, the staff was totally awesome.
  • There was no wireless access in my room.

“Overall this is a very nice hotel, the staff was excellent, this is a very family friendly hotel, and there were lots of activities for single people as well as families. I definitely would recommend this hotel to my friends.”

  • Nice beach.
  • Restaurant services were terrible! I felt like an outcast - we attempted to give it a second try but still unfriendly service.

“Hotel was nice good location on the beach and to the city. Was not pleased our room was overlooking the taxi drop off when it said garden view?”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[2] • Location:[9]

  • The beach and the view.
  • Noise in the rooms at night, unfriendly and unhelpful staff, cleanliness.

“Upon checking into the resort we were told that the plan on our confirmation sheet was not what they were offering us. The staff was very unfriendly and less than helpful with any request or concern. Most mixed drinks were not included and the rules seemed to change constantly from one bar to the other. Our reservation also indicated that we would receive an "ocean front" upgrade upon arrival. Well that did not happen either. We were on vacation the 1st week of March and as a result the place was full of college kids on Spring Break. That in itself was not a problem, but the noise and screaming in the hallways at night was a problem. After the second night of absolutely no sleep we asked the management if they would monitor the hallways more and insist on the screaming and door slamming to end after 11pm. We were told, "you should not have come this week, the kids are on vacation." We were very insulted. We also were on vacation. As for the food, the breakfast buffet was very good. The rest of the food was just fair at best. The rooms were not very clean. Needless to say, we will not return to the Villa del Palmar.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • The friendly staff, location, atmosphere, beauty.
  • Expensive prices, pool closes early (10 p.m.), dangerous ocean, can't drink tap water (showers and brushing teeth, okay)

“My stay at the Villa del Palmer was extremely enjoyable and I would go back in an instant. The location was perfect because of the views! The ocean is literally outside your door and the hotel amenities are excellent. The gym costs about 8 dollars for 2 hours, but most of the extra costs, such as food, drinks, phones, etc. are overpriced. The cheapest coca cola I bought on this resort was $4 dollars and a bottle of water is $1.50. The water is not okay to drink, so bring a lot of water! The water slide, located on the resort is fun for kids of all ages and very reliable. The friendly staff and warm atmosphere make the place the best it can be. The ocean is quite strong and dangerous, so be sure to keep an eye out for little kids, since there is no beach lifeguard. The beach adjacent to the hotel is public, so many local "vendors" come as close as they possibly can to the hotel and try to make you buy random stuff. It's not a problem, but you need to be firm with them by saying "I do not want to buy anything" and they won't bother you! The town of Cabo san Lucas is pretty run down, but it was interesting visiting it to see an average Mexican town!”

  • The Beach Party buffet and entertainment was fun.
  • Food in the deli/market very over priced.

“The staff gave me a choice of a penthouse up-grade with balcony overlooking the Arch and Sea of Cortez....which was not available when I had booked my reservation. It was beautiful, and out of the Hotel proper...which is noisy because of all the people checking in and out and business going on. My bedroom in the penthouse was so quiet, I couldn't hear my family in the next room! All the staff I encountered were very friendly and accomodating. My grandchildren loved the resort, as well as my children. Good maid service, also.”

“The hotel was an upper end tourist hotel. Nice but not luxurious appointments. The full kitchen sealed the deal and increased the value of the hotel stay. Hotel was loud and appeared crowded. Beautiful location.”

“The staff at Villa del Palmar was unfriendly and unhelpful compared to other resorts we've stayed at in Cabo. It's also too noisy and crowded for our taste.”
