“Things at the La Jolla Inn are not at all as the owner would like you to believe. The rooms are very small with little room for two adults to move about freely. The view in their ocean view rooms can only be seen if you're standing out on the balcony and is obscured by buildings and tall palm trees. The air conditioning is non-functional and provides little to no relief from the heat, even when set on turbo. The king bed is actually two twin mattresses pushed together. That does not make a king bed no matter how you look at it! Management is impossible to reach to discuss problems and when he does respond, he lies about how things are.”

“The room was very small and outdated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small and out dated. This hotel had two things going for it, a friendly staff and the location.

“La Jolla Inn was a cozy hotel in a great location. The rooms that we had were small but very clean and well kept. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful.”

“It was instead on a busy street a block from the ocean and with inconvenient parking. Rooms were small and old.”

“If you want to be in the heart of La Jolla, this hotel is well-located. It offers parking (underground, 2.5 blocks away!), but no pool or real beach access (La Jolla's big beach is just a ten minute drive, though, and there are pocket beaches in walking distance). The rooms are cute, but small and the air conditioning and fridges are loud; the balcony views are wonderful, though the dripping air conditioners make the tight balconies a bit unwelcoming. The free continental breakfast isn't impressive and it's served in your room or up what looks like a rickety fire. On the upside, the hotel staff was very nice and there were computers for guest’s use in the hallway. Overall, though, we wouldn't recommend this hotel.”
