“The rooms have been recently remodeled and are quite impressive. The rooms have a contemporary look to them. The view from the room overlooking the Pacific Ocean is gorgeous. The bathroom with a shower that has a view of the ocean is a real plus. The beds, pillows, and sheets were first rate.”

“I just recently stayed at this hotel. They let construction workers in my room without notifying us and while we were not in our room we returned and he was in there and my 500 dollar iphone came up missing. The service was extremely rude. The man at the front desk had a horrible attitude and was unaccommodating. Our room was not prepared for us, our phone did not work and the general manager will just blow smoke up your butt and nothing will ever get resolved. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel ever!”

“I liked the attractiveness of the hotel's outward appearance. Room was clean and has met my expectations. Just annoyed with next door neighbors slamming doors loudly in the morning during my 2 days stay with my boyfriend. And being put on a floor where they are remodeling. Killed the romantic mood.”

“The future looks promising with the new remodeled rooms. We liked the view of the beach. The hotel was comfortable and it is possible we would stay there again after the construction is done. The room was comfortable. Did not think the cost for parking should be extra.”

“Overall, it was pleasant. It was our anniversary so I was hoping for a little more of a romantic room. I see the refurbishing in the future, looks nice, we would stay again.”

“Great location, great view, quality of room itself is great, pool is nice, but small, lobby area and staff leave something to be desired.”

“When I called the hotel to request one of the 2 rooms with 2 beds, they advised they could only upgrade to 2 beds for an extra $40. Seeing how we were asking our host family from LA to San Diego for the day, it was difficult to do anything but pay the extra $40. This did not get us a suite but just an extra bed. This may make me think twice in the future. A very bad taste in my mouth from this one bad experience.”

“La Jolla Hotel: Ok, you just walked into the 1960's. Here in La Jolla Shores the past-classy feel holds up. It's charming. Original Developer, Doug Manchester wanted an indoor/outdoor experience. In Los Angeles this garden architectural would be troubling. The hallways are outside. In La Jolla it works. The decor is lovely.”

“Nice hotel, they just have to pay more attention to minor maintenance to the rooms. Just a bunch of little things that need attention. Overall a very nice hotel with a great experience.”

“This hotel was overpriced for its room and amenities. It charges $15 per night parking, offers no breakfast, no microwave, no view, no shuttle to hereby Sea World. May be ok for business traveler but not good for leisure vacationers, especially those with children.”

“After an exhausting day spent at the beach, we checked into hotel at 3 PM. The elevator quickly took us to our floor, where we found our room to be quite spacious and relaxing. In the evening we watched the sun set into the horizon from our balcony. A peaceful end to a day well spent. The next day I awoke from a good nights sleep. Headed down to Starbucks, grabbed a couple of coffees and hot chocolates for everyone in the room. The landscape was lush and beautiful on the grounds of the hotel as I walked back to the room with my way of starting off a great day. Prior to leaving, we noticed the card on the back of the door detailing the rates of the room. We soon checked out and headed to the beach for another day of fun.”

“The hotels location is great, the staff seemed friendly, would not recommend for families, also had items stolen from our room while on our stay and had dirty laundry left in the room on our bed that was not ours.”

“We were in the lower floor (floor 2) which has not been renovated. You also have no view of the beach till you get to the 5th floor. Of course, from the restaurant you can see the view. Otherwise, it is a great location for the price. There is a Starbucks and a Subway within 100 steps on the other side of a hedge which is very convenient. Also, the pool is small but has nice lounge chairs and the water temperature was perfect.”

“This is a 2 1/2 star hotel in a 4 star location. Only a 5 min drive to the beaches. Clean. Free internet. Warm pool. Nice fitness room. Outdated. Old TV. Charged for parking.”
