  • Cotton mill restaurant and great restoration of an old factory.
  • A little wear and tear here and there, not enough to keep me away.

“Very nice historic type hotel. The staff was friendly and our room was nice. Interesting part of town with revamped buildings and a nice history. The Cotton mill restaurant was great all the way around, food, service and atmosphere. Overall a really pleasant stay and a place to revisit.”

  • Very quiet and the most comfortable bed I have ever experienced in a hotel.
  • Check-in was not until 3pm.

“Brookstown Inn has an excellent, safe and easy to find location. I was impressed by the large room size and extremely comfortable bed and pillows. It is located in Old Salem and is in walking distance to many tourist areas as well as Salem College.”

  • Cotton Mill Restaurant on site, great look and feel to the hotel.
  • Front desk lacked service skills.

“A quaint hotel with a lot of history and character. Large rooms and a lot of wood and brick remind you how this place has lasted from 1800. The onsite restaurant called The Cotton Mill was outstanding. Best food I have had outside of Charleston bar none. Cotton Mill is independently owned and the restaurant staff was very friendly and service oriented, but the same could not be said of the front desk of the hotel. They were indifferent and only spoke when spoken to. Great look to the place and awesome food in the restaurant, so I will definitely stay again.”

  • Old world feel.
  • Did not get the room type I payed for, wasted my money.

“Stayed here before and generally was pleased. Ordered an executive king suite and payed plenty of extra money for this trip. Was placed in normal suite and did not get any money back.”

  • I have nothing bad to say about it. It was easy to find and neat because it was a cotton mill.
  • Th only thing is the bathroom needed some work.

“I really liked it because it was a cotton mill and it was cozy. The dining room was very nice and their breakfasts were the best I have ever seen in a hotel.”

  • Unique and historic, great location.
  • Small room, a bit stuffy.

“This restored textile mills retains an old-world Moravian charm while providing a reasonable array of upscale services. Exposed beams and high ceilings make for an attractive and unique experience. The hotel is within walking distance of old Salem and Downtown businesses.”

  • Great fitness facility. Very friendly staff.

“Huge room, comfortable beds and very friendly staff. Was pleasantly surprised at the Nautilus equipment in the fitness room. Very charming decor with lots of exposed wood and brick. Very close to North Carolina School of the Arts. Will most definitely return when visiting daughter who will attend NCARTS.”

  • Location and amenities.
  • Painters were renovating room next to mine at 6am on a Saturday.

“The hotel is excellent and location is great and parking is ample.”

  • The staff was fantastic. The room was architecturally interesting.
  • TV very small. Would have appreciated throw rugs on hardwood floors.

“The building was a renovated textile mill. The architecture was very interesting. The staff at the front desk was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The continental breakfast was very good as was the wine and cheese reception. Be sure to eat dinner at the Cotton Mill, the hotel's attached restaurant; food is fabulous and service is top of the line. Across the brick courtyard is Winston Salem's visitor center. You must stop in there and talk to the staff and eat Moravian cookies!”

  • Wonderful historic feel.
  • It was a little noisy from hard floors on floor above.

“Our room (king) was enormous and had a wonderful feeling of history with the brick walls, 15-20 foot ceilings and quilt on the bed. The bath was a little disappointing in terms of luxury but was clean and functional. The breakfast was very good but not impressive. I would heartily recommend this hotel.”

  • I really enjoyed my stay, I felt very comfortable and very welcomed to be a guest.
  • I did not find anything about my stay and would go back; my only complaint was that I could not stay longer.

“I was well assisted in all my needs, I believe that the staff on duty were exceptional informative as well as friendly and made me feel like I was home, my only sadness was not staying longer then I had but would return anytime.”
