“Booked approx 15 rooms - confirmed a few times last being a week prior - got a call about 5 days - Hotel overbooked by over 20 rooms, manager told me he could not accommodate our entire group, he ended up booking us a mile away - said he would pay, take care of the difference - did not honor his agreement. This year we booked at the Pierpont Inn. Very happy with Pierpont Inn. Clock tower backs up to a homeless park and two very Loud nightclubs. Plan on staying up late on Saturday night if you get the wrong room. The place is dirty, the beds must be over 15 years old. The only great thing about this hotel is the location. The wine and Cheez Whiz and saltine crackers are a joke. I have stayed at this hotel prior and I am glad that our group will never go back once we found the Pierpont Inn.”

“I enjoyed the stay at this hotel. The restaurant Hush turns into a nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights which is pretty cool and fun. All the bars and local restaurants and shops are located right around the corner. We were very satisfied with our room and hotel.”

“Great location. Walking distance to beach and downtown, right off of highway exit. Rooms were not as clean as one would hope for but staff brought clean sheets promptly when requested. If you want wine at wine hour (5 pm) don't show up at 5:15, it will all be gone.”

“The hotel is in a good area within Ventura. It is hard to find a 2-3 star hotel in this area that is considered nice or safe by local people. It is an old hotel, but has it is charm with the wooden furniture and closed patio. The hotel restaurant (Hush) is a great place for dinner and turns into a club afterwards. Bars and restaurants are in walking distance. Would recommend for a 1-3 day stay for 1 or 2 people.”

“The Clock tower is set in a good location that offers and easy walk to downtown, the fairgrounds and Main Street. It also has close access to the US101 without being noisy. The staff were excellent and the room was good. It is a mid size hotel that I would recommend.”

“When I got my confirmation for this hotel, I was supposed to have a deluxe suite with a fireplace, however, when I arrived, they gave me another room because a couple that was supposed to check out didn't and they couldn't ask them to leave so I didn't get the room I wanted. I thought that was bad business. I will not return to this hotel.”

“I would stay at this hotel again if traveling to Ventura. The location was wonderful, close to the mission, old downtown, and the ocean. The lobby was very comfortable and inviting.”

“In the morning the continental breakfast was left unattended and things began to run out (Saturday). The coffee tasted like it was brewed from yesterday. When I could not find the person who was to take care of the breakfast I went to the front desk she was to busy eating to assist me I told her that there was no hot water for the oatmeal. I came back a second time and she was still eating. She called over to someone and said it was OK but this guys wants hot water. She had a attitude that would not quit. Earlier in the morning I went to make the in room coffee and they only had decaffe the bed sheets where to short and came out of the mattress. I could go on but in the long run they need to have more people working there and some training in hotel hospitality.”

“They offered a "cheese and wine" happy hour at 5 PM. They were almost an hour late putting it out (we actually went back to the hotel for this). The wine was terrible. The put out GENERIC Saltine crackers and some sort of cheese like product. All of this was served on Styrofoam Not exactly what was envisioned when it was described. The chair on the patio was completely broken and there were holes in the curtains. The fire alarm was dangling from the ceiling with a shower cap over it. There were homeless people wandering about the entire area, making it feel unsafe, particularly at night. The best thing about the hotel was the young man hotel clerk. He was very sweet and helpful. The rooms were also fairly clean.”

“If the Clock tower Inn would take better care of itself it can be a charming place to stay. However, in my stay the pull-out sofa had sand and stains, the other room did not have pillows and it took over an hour for them to get the Internet running. Plus some of the staff was not too friendly.”
