• Location on the beach - beautiful!
• The bed was uncomfortable/ room needs refurbishing.

“This 13-storey hotel sits right on Ventura's Gold Coast Beach within walking distance of the shops of old-town Ventura. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The rooms are smaller than those in other 3-star hotels, and the furniture could use some refurbishing. But the location of this hotel couldn't be beat.”

• Close to the ocean.
• Rooms Very small and none faced the ocean.

“Overall it is a convenient hotel - close to the ocean, close to old-town Ventura, close to the highway and close to the train tracks. I was disappointed with the size of the room and bathroom (think Motel 6) and the bed but the walking distance proximity to old-town and being right on the ocean was a bonus. Over all, it is time for a renovation on this property.”

• Location was nice.
• Couldn't check in until 4:00. Hallways were filthy and cluttered.

“I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the hallways of the hotel. We had to walk over stacks of linens, food trays and trash which littered the hallway to our room. It was also very inconvenient not to be able to check in to our room until 4:00 p.m. Other hotels try hard to get you in when you arrive.”

• It's location on the beach in a beautiful area was excellent.
• The room didn't live up to my star level expectation and the walls were thin.

“This hotel was in a beautiful location right on the beach with easy access to local amenities, businesses, and the freeway. The services offered by the hotel exceeded my expectations, but the room was small, with only full sized beds (though the beds were very comfortable. The walls were also thin, we could hear the people in the next room clearly. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we expressed our needs.”

“The Crowne plaza was recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable with very nice linens, and extra towels at the pool. Great location and walking distance to downtown Ventura.”

  promptly and politely attempted to correct problems.
• Stained towels, old decor, stained carpet, no iron, train and freeway noise, trouble with internet, and
  parking charges.

“Compared to other Crowne Plaza Hotels, this one is in need of renovating the guest rooms and hallways. The staff did their best to make the stay pleasant.”

• Close to the beach.
• No internet connection.

“We had no real interaction with the hotel or it's staff. We came, we slept and we left. The wireless internet was a fiasco that could not be resolved by the hotel engineer. The maid service was very good. The hotel would validate parking and then at the end you were charged for the parking, thats just weird.”

• Train being very close, dirty room, broken toilet and
  parking fee.

“The hotel is not a bad place to stay at, it has a nice view of the ocean, it's close to restaurants, however there are negative things about it such as the train being really close, the room is decent but under the bed there were scraps not picked up prior to our stay, the toilet was broken and it shoots out water in the toilet tank in the room we've stayed at.”

• The breakfast was tasty and the service was friendly and prompt.
• The only parking available was outdoors with a charge.

“We were very disappointed in this hotel; the room was small, and not well-kept (i.e. flaking paint). The bathroom was small and had odor. We were hoping for a nice relaxing room with a view; we couldn't wait to leave!!!!!”

• Computer room with three PCs but only one has USB drive.

“Hotel was very clean and right at the beach front and walking distance from downtown Ventura and from the Amtrak train station - very easy to take train from LA for a weekend getaway”

• Great view. Able to leave drapes open and enjoy the ocean view.
• Very noisy, hallways need more frequent cleaning, no ice machine on the floor I stayed on.

“I was disappointed in the hotel, the lobby was very nice and the views from the rooms were spectacular however. The noise from the freeway and the train were very noticeable. Items in the room I asked to repair were not fixed, the clock radio was set on am not pm which made the alarm not go off at the correct time. The ice machine was nonexistent on the 8th floor with no sign saying, please use ice machine on 9th floor. When I had asked where the ice machine was the maid pointed down the hall but there wasn't one there. I was surprised when I open the bed and found a hole in the bottom sheet.”

• Super location on beach, walk to downtown & pier.
• Small pool but sufficient.

“Great location, walk along beach boardwalk to pier, great seafood restaurant there, Eric Erickson's. Also short walk to downtown. Good surfing out front at hotel. Great beach experience. Hotel was clean, attractive and professional staff.”

• I liked the location of this hotel; it was close to beach, and Downtown.
• I thought the price was a little high, and in the room they should have a mini-bar or mini fridge.

“I liked this hotel very much the staff was very friendly and help full, food and drink was even better. and it was the perfect location, right next to beach, and a short walk to pier and Downtown shopping, bar and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and again.”
