“I was pleased with the location and customer service during the day. I was incredibly unhappy when the night clerk ordered me a hired car instead of the taxi that I asked for, costing me twice as much to get to the airport. That soured the entire experience.”

“The hotel hall is really small, considering you have to get your breakfast there and at the same time people can be arriving for checking in, you kind of have to squeeze there to do not spill your coffee. The room is also small, perfect for 1 people traveling solo like I was. I really didn't like the smell of mold that came out when I turned on the air conditioner. I think the hotel should clean their air conditioners more often, it's healthy you know! But in general the hotel was fine after all it was in NY.”

“Hotel represents good value. Bus stop in front, but subway is a 10 min. Walk, may be too far for some. More adventurous travelers should have no difficulties. Iron/ironing board in room is convenient. Continental breakfast is fine.”

“The room was small, but clean. The hotel had free WiFi in the room, fridge, microwave, and was 5 min. from the subway. The front desk staff weren't friendly nor were they rude. They just did their jobs. The street Queens Blvd seems seedy and not really safe, but the neighborhood is easy to walk through and feels very safe. The subway is really convenient and runs 24/7.The only bad thing was having to listen to the couple next door having sex all the time.”

“The hotel was clean; the staff was friendly and helpful. Subway Station was within walking distance. No restaurants close by. A good economical sleep close to Manhattan.”

“I would not stay in that hotel again. I have booked better hotel rooms with half the price. No Shuttle service to and from Airport. The only thing I like about this hotel is that the staff allowed me to check in before the time.”

“While the bathroom was very clean, the room was very cramped. No breathing room. But, hey, I was only there to sleep. I had too much sight seeing to do! The staff was very helpful and cordial.”

“It served the purpose. Mine was a short stay, on business, and it was just fine. The price was attractive. Location was sufficient to subway.”

“When I checked into the Howard Johnson express in Woodside, queens, I asked for a non smoking room and was told there were none left; the guy behind me walked in, asked if there were any rooms left, and was offered a non smoking room. My basement room was a good size for NYC and, other than a very strong cannabis smoke odor; it was spotlessly clean and in good condition. The hotel is located about 5 minutes' walk from the subway and near the subway station there are quite a few shops, restaurants and bars as well. Not a bad place on a budget. One other annoyance is that the hotel won't hold onto any luggage on the day you check out (I had only a carry on sized backpack). As difficult as it is to store a bag in NYC these days, this was very annoying.”

“The room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff was friendly. The 61st subway station is a short walk away. My only complaint is the weak water pressure.”

“I was looking for a hotel nearby Arthur Ashe stadium. As I was not planning to be in the hotel only for sleep, I was actually looking for a "lesser price" hotel. This is actually one star. But when I stayed, I felt its definitely a 2 star. Also, its located close to a subway station. I would recommend it as an ideal location to stay if u r planning to visit US Open.”

“The location is great - 2 blocks from Subway and a very easy walk. There is a lot to do nearby and the parking is very convenient (but limited). The staff was not really friendly but not really mean/bad. The rooms were small, as expected, but well kept and the furniture was well kept. I was pleased!”

“The bed was huge and presented without bed bugs and the linens smelled clean. The nightstand, desk, carpet and bathroom counter tops all had burn marks on them. The room I was given was in the basement, decreasing any security you might have mustered if you viewed the hood on the way in. Inconveniently located, with friendly staff, I would only recommend this ho-tell to someone who couldn't book at the Pan-American right up the road.”
