“The front office staff was not friendly though they tried to be efficient. Just didn't succeed. When I got to the room, there were two beds, the room I was given had a horrible musty, sour smell to it and when I complained I was told to keep my windows and doors open. The young woman from the desk came up to smell the room, and then told me that it was only a stale smell and to open the windows. This was after I had the front door open and the ceiling fan running for 15 minutes. She then flounced out and yelled back that I was paying for the room whether I liked it or not. I do not recommend this place at all. If you stay in Paso Robles, stay at the Adelaide Inn. Rooms are more pleasant and friendly staff.”

“Typical motel, relatively clean and easy to reach from the freeway. A handful of restaurants, a gas station and quickie-mart are all within a 5 minute walk. The on-site restaurant looked kind of sketchy, the girl at the Burger Joint was rude and wouldn't serve me and a business companion when we came in about 20 minutes before close, which I kind of understand. The pizza place was tolerable but not
their music.”

“The Black Oaks is more attractive than most best westerns the lobby and pool area are well kept; the coffee is fresh in the lobby and the staff friendly and cooperative. Rooms are clean and odor free. The furnishings are attractive for this price level. We asked to be moved because of some loud talking guests above us, and management upgraded our room with no hesitation. The only negative is the a/c the thermostat is a climate control, so the unit cycles on and off at one speed all night long. Otherwise, it's an extremely comfortable place. Our upgraded room had the best beds we've slept on in a long time!”

“This Best Western Hotel was everything it should have been. Staying here made you feel that you were staying at home. The bed was comfortable and clean every night. The room was thoroughly clean from top to bottom with fresh linens everyday. It had all the comforts of home. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.”

“Provided coffee in the lobby in the AM. Lobby small but comfortable to sit in and read newspaper. Lovely grounds - well kept. Coffee shop attached to hotel. Location next to 101 freeway. Have to keep a sharp eye for signs on freeway. Another sign in each direction would be very helpful in finding the hotel. I went by it and had to go back.”

“I liked that the motel was in-between a diner and a Star bucks For a weary traveler such as myself, a nearby eatery and deluxe coffee is a must. The staff was charming and helpful and all of the guests were smiling.”
