“They do not have parking, so you have to pay 20 dollars per day, so the valet parking takes your car somewhere else. And if the parking that they have (somewhere else) is full, you have to look for a space in the streets.”

“I want to express my disappointment with regards to my stay at the location. We arrived on Thursday, 06/04/09. We stayed at that location. We opted to stay at the Deauville in order to attend a Wedding that occurred at your location. Upon arriving we were greeted very well by your hop staff. We asked if there was an ocean view room available. She replied that she did have one however, we would not have the king bed we had requested. We ask what size bed, she replied, two Queen Size. For a nice ocean view, we would give up the luxury of the king. Upon reaching the 10th floor we could not help but notice the terrible conditions of the floors. The closer we got to our room the more stains appeared on the floor not to mention the smell. We got into the room and that was quite a site. Staff needs to know the difference in sizes between a Queen and a Full. The ocean view was in fact a side view of the building facing south, if one can see out of the filthy windows that had finally been cleaned by the rain storm on Friday morning. When opening the closet doors to hang our close, the doors fell off. We opted to leave our cloths in our bags. We started to set up in the bathroom but the there was no place to put the soap, or tooth brushes. The Hair blower was just placed next to the towels as there was no place to hang it. For dressing up, no view mirror was provided in the room. We then realized that we made a mistake in our selection of hotels and our option to extend in order to remain with the other guest until Monday was out of the question. The night before we stayed at a Ramada inn in Daytona. But it was better. Got up Friday morning and headed out to the pool area, hopefully things would be better. Stopped by the pool bar for cocktails. We understand the use of plastic cups in a pool area for safety, but $2.”

“Overall, I had to change rooms three times in one night because the first two rooms were terrible and looked more like a cheap motel rather than a 3 star hotel. Also, the hotel quests were forced to park on the street because the hotel staff gave priority to seniors at their prom night. My husband and I ended up waiting until 2:00 am for parking.”

“The hotel lobby and facilities are nice. Right on the beach. The room was plain but clean. The staff was indifferent. No check in until 4 pm and early check in
costs
$ extra. No parking except valet and that is $20 per day. Customer charge for amenities of $10 per day. I wouldn't recommend and stay somewhere nice.”

“At 1st glance the hotel looks beautiful, but that's because of the lobby. The room we were originally put in had a leaky ceiling in the bathroom, had to get in somewhat of an argument with the manager & 3 hours later, we were finally moved to another room. In our new room, the phone did not work. Every time you cut the water on / off you could hear the pipes rattling inside the walls. Hotel staff would not let you walk from the pool area thru the hotel unless you put your shoes on; they do not have a separate entry at the pool to get back into your room, but they do not have a problem expecting you to use your toilet while water drips on your head from ceiling above. If it was not for the lobby, pool, & the convenience to the beach, this hotel would need to be tore down & rebuilt!”

“The location is wonderful, right on the beach. Pool and outdoor hot tub were very nice. The lobby was large and filled with dozens of orchid plants in bloom. Our room did not seem to be up to the same standards as the public areas of the hotel.”

“The room was disgusting. There were stains on the floor, the bathroom had an odor and there were no wash clothes to used except for the first day we arrived. For such a terrible hotel, parking should not have been $20/day; it was better to walk a few blocks for cheaper public parking. Also, the front desk staff had a tendency to have an attitude and the house-keeping couldn't even understand what you were saying to them in English. There was no microwave, yet there was a fridge.”

“Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It smelt like mold, alarm, light switch by the bed and refrigerator didn't work. Called front desk they never sent anyone. No business center to print anything. Not happy at all with this hotel.”

“The Deauville was clearly a monument of beauty -- fifty years ago. There have been some remodels but not in the hall where we stayed. The walls are very thin and unattended children and teens everywhere. There was not enough hot water for two consecutive showers. The elevators took quite a long time to arrive. The breakfast buffet was $23 per person!”

“This is in a great location in the Historic District of Miami Beach, just south of North Beach. It's close to a bus stop and walking distance to many restaurants and a Walgreen's. The lobby, pool and other public spaces have a retro sumptuousness that is very pleasing, but then the simple, drab rooms (clean, fine) seem like a letdown. Overall a very nice experience.”

“Overall, it was an ok. Hotel to stay there for just two nights and we were thus almost positively surprised. However, I would not recommend it for a longer holiday. Except for the amazingly huge and stunning entrance hall everything looked a bit run down. The first room we were given needed renovation and moreover it smelled. The shower was open (no bathtub or anything), which meant by taking a shower we flooded the complete bathroom and even part of the guest room. The carpet right in front of the bathroom was already soaking wet on our arrival, probably from the last guests before us who had taken a shower there. The keycards did not work properly, not only for our room but also for the other rooms on our floor. Once we tried for about 15 minutes to get into our room. When we finally succeeded and the door seemed to open, we pushed it towards the inside of the room so that it would open, but the wood of the door broke and the door was also not in its hinges any more. We could not close it any more after that. So we were given a new room on another floor. Here the key cards also did not work at first, but one of the receptionists came up and explained us how to work them properly and after that we mostly were able to enter after 1-3 attempts. The second room was nicer than the first and seemed newly renovated. Here we also had a bathroom with bathtub, so no further flooding. Breakfast at the Deauville was good.”

“Check in and out took a long time due to the volume of guests but I suppose that is to be expected. At first, we were given the wrong keys so that meant going back down and waiting again to get the issue resolved. The housekeeping and repair staff were all using guest elevators so it took forever to get to our room and their bulky equipment made us miss our floors cause we could not get past them. I am not sure where they kept the valet cars, but when we got ours back it was dirty with mud and feathers all over it. On the positive side, the rooms were really nice and clean, we had a good view from the room even though it was not an oceanview room. We were given the bed arrangement we asked for. The room had a small fridge and iron and fan which all came handy. The tiki bar and lobby bar staff were very nice and gave us plenty of tips on how to spend our Miami beach vacation. The pool area was also very large with plenty of lounge chairs. Overall, I would recommend this hotel despite some of its negative points just make sure not to use valet if possible and come and leave early to avoid the registration lines.”
