“We were very pleased with the overall appearance of the hotel and the employees of the hotel. The location is very close to the port where we were going to get on a cruise ship. We would definately recommend this hotel to any of our friends.”

“Location was good, very old hotel but clean. Front desk people were worthless, seemed like you were interrupting something every time you approached them.”

“Although location is excellent, I won't recommend this hotel. The smell of moisture which indicates fungus is terrible and bathrooms definitely needs renovation. Staff is not bad, but also not more as moderate. Breakfast is poor, so go out to Collins Av or Lincoln Rd. Find a hotel between 1st and 20th street.”

“I would not stay at this hotel again even though the location was near the all the action and ocean drive. The staff in the early morning and the third shift was very nice, but the evening staff was not helpful. I could not even get ice from the hotel and it has a restaurant on premise.”

“Prime location for food and clubs. The rooms are small but its kind of like being in a college dorm room. Good if you just need some where to put your thing and half way sleep before you get up and go out again.”

“This was the worst experience with this hotel and the worst customer service and rudeness that I have ever experience. There were no towels. We couldn't ever sit on the hotel terrace because that was their policy. The front desk was rude to us and had I don't care attitude regarding this matter. I will be faxing a complaint regarding this matter, you all should choose a better selection of hotels to advertise or market.”

“The beds were hard as wood and had springs poking you. The pillows were stiff and uncomfortable. The service was surly and rude. They couldn't provide a second key until the next day. They couldn't provide a clean iron (the iron in the room had a foul brown film on it that would have got on our clothes had we not tested it on a towel first). The towels were small and they only gave us two for two people. Overall, this was a pretty horrible hotel. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.”

“There was no parking available, and since it was spring break we had to go 3 blocks away to find an available garage ($20 for 24 hours). No biggie. It was definitely a budget hotel, so we expected a little shabbiness (hey, the worn wood floors were charming and the alley/rooftop view made us laugh). But we were very pleased to find a very clean bathroom (new caulking, fixtures). They supplied many amenities that better hotels do not, such as toothpaste samples along with the usual shampoo and soap. Towels were clean, bright white and high quality, bed was very comfortable. Given the excellent location, we were very pleased with the hotel. Nice breakfast of fruit, coffee, muffins, toast and jam, etc. Would return here without hesitation.”

“Overall these review hotel reviews on any hotel site seem to be skewed toward the bad reviews. An angry person is more likely to review I guess. Anyway, on my visit to this hotel it was clean and pretty modern. The bed comforter was pretty worn but its warm in Miami and all the other linens were nice and clean. The bathroom was clean. I am sure many of the hotels (even ones with several questionable reviews) in the area are just as nice and clean in most cases. I would recommend this hotel. It¿s a bit expensive but everything seems to be in the area. Oh there is no parking at the hotel but there municipal parking is on 16th sty (2 blocks away) and costs $16 per 24 hour period as of march 2007. This parking structure is manned 24hrs a day and lighted and seemed safe.”

“This hotel is very deceiving. It looks good from the outside and the lobby is nice but it was by far one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. The room had wood floors that were so dusty and dirty that it left dirt on the bottom of our feet when we walked on it. The bathroom had mildew and mold in the shower and shower doors. The sheets were all white and had small red stains on them. The staff spoke very broken English and wasn't able to help us. It seemed like all the staff did was hang out in the lobby sitting on the couches drinking. When we asked one of the staff members that worked behind the bar how late we could order food from the kitchen, she said, "whets food" and had to get someone else to help her. They have no parking and were not able to help give us an idea of how to find some. ”

“This hotel¿s. Staff is in general unfriendly. In particular, one of them was really unwilling to help. The hotel room was not clean even though it was recently renovated. The hardwood floor just gives you an unpleasant feeling. The bathroom looks like those in prison (though I haven't been to one). 0 facilities. At this price range, I would recommend Carlton hotel, which is only one block away from this hotel. I booked a separate booking at that hotel for my friends and them like it a lot. They have complimentary drinks, a swimming pool, and friendly staff. In conclusion, don't stay in beachcomber if you have a choice!”

“The beachcomber was a pleasant hotel located in the heart of south beach. It was about a block away for the beach and the restaurants and a shot walk to anything else that you may need. The rooms and hotel were decorated very nicely and the hotel was very clean.”

“Nothing, RUDE STAFF WILL NEVER RETURN. Hotel smells like heating Olive Oil and the bearded owner and Latino desk clerk are extremely rude. No acknowledgment when approaching the desk, i.e.: hello, good morning, thank you. No wonder they have no one staying in that place. The staff is dull and acts as if they are doing you a favor.”

“This hotel is centrally located in South Beach. Has parking for cars at their 'sister' hotel just a block away (the Nassau). The staff were helpful at keeping the room clean and providing beach towels. Really enjoyed my stay and was pleasantly surprised after having had low expectations (based on some mixed reviews I had read on the Internet). Other than some noisy guests one night on my floor, can't say that there is anything I didn't like about the hotel. While not exactly "bubbly," the staff were helpful and did their jobs as expected. A great deal for the price.”

“This hotel is awesome for the price. The location is fabulous, and the overall decor is very cute. My only complaint is regarding the bed... could have been more comfortable. Otherwise though, a great value!”

“The location was good. But, the room was not clean and we found dark hair between the sheets. I am sure I could say more, but not sending clients to the Beachcomber Hotel says it all!”

“Cute building in the art deco district, the hotel has a pleasing porch and entry. No elevator and first timers should know this up front. No more rooms on the main floor, and with severe arthritis had to climb about 20 stairs. Evidently a much sought after hotel district, we weren't terribly impressed.”

“Located one block off Ocean Boulevard. A great value compared to Old Art Deco hotels right on Ocean Blvd. The lobby was neither inviting nor comfortable, but the room was clean, comfortable but a little spartan. The staff was more concerned about personal calls on their cellphones than on check-in, check-out, or assisting when the TV remore needed a new batery. It met our expectations for a 2 Star property, except for staff..”
