“Excellent staff, very helpful with directions and local travel advice, clean rooms but a tad small, my room was quiet.”

“This is a good hotel for budget minded travelers that don't mind walking 5-6 blocks to get to the New York Subway station (7 trains) to get into Manhattan.

“The hotel itself was wonderful, clean, efficient, and with extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff. The hot breakfast was way over the top of what I expected - excellent. I was hoping for a better price considering the location in Queens, but in comparison, it wasn't a horrible price. It was a good
since it was only 6 -7 stops from Times Square on the subway, but a bit of a nervous 6-8 block walk through a gang-tagged neighborhood.”

“It was horrible. No internet, no hot water, not a safe area to go walking past the corner store!”

“The beds were clean but quite hard. Rug in the room was so dirty it was sticky. Hall rug was dirty. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Had a hard time returning to hotel from my son's apartment because the taxi drivers could not find it. Car service worked better, non smoking room smelled of smoke from rooms down the hall.”

“My overall experience is good about this hotel. Not far from metro, hotel parking not enough, but there was free parking nearby. Nice breakfast buffet.”

“Generally clean, nice lobby and breakfast. Only complaint was a slight mould build-up on one of the walls in the room, which left some odor. Nothing major though. Located a 10 minute walk from the Metro 7 which brings you directly to time square. Convenient location for visiting New York on a budget.”

“Overall this hotel is ok. If you have a car you will be fine, without a car you are in for a long walk to the subway. We didn't have a desk or chair, and the closet was just a standalone cabinet that blocked our mirror. During the mornings we could see other rooms and they were more standard US hotel room size. For the price and the way we used the hotel it worked and the breakfast was good. I would fight hard for a larger/standard sized room if I stayed there again.”

“For the price and location, the hotel was very good. Continental breakfast helped start the day and it was only a 10mins walk to the Subway that took you into the heart of Manhattan. Room was small but very clean and just what we needed since we only used it to sleep at night. The only negative thing was the walk from the Subway to the hotel at night. Coming from a very safe neighborhood, I was a little unsettled. But a cab was only $4. Overall, great place and a good price.”

“Nice place, but it is far from subway. We need to walk 20 mins to reach station. Breakfast is free and good, the space of room is much bigger than I live in Manhattan.”

“The hotel didn't have a non-smoking room, so we had to stay in a smoking room that really stunk, my kids all ended up with allergies. There was not one cab driver or car service that knew the location of this hotel, and was very far from public transportation.”

“I knew this wouldn't be the Hilton but still it's not that clean. But after all this is NY we are talking about. I guess for price you would need to sacrifice a few things. The location of the hotel is in a safe neighborhood. Need to walk about 10 minutes to the Metro Station and from there it's a 25 minute ride to Times Square, which is not that bad. One little tip: You need to take the local Metro when riding back to the hotel from Manhattan. There are express trains that won't stop at 40th. We traveled with 7 year, 5 year old boys and they did pretty okay with the whole walking around.”

“This motel The Holliday Inn Express by the Midtown Tunnel is new and impressive looking. The parking is poor for those that drive. One may park on the street though. There is no Subway close but one can take a bus to the subway.”
