“This was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at in New York- I've stayed at the Howard Johnson, The Carlton Arms, the Days Inn and the Holiday Inn and this was by far the nicest- no weird musty/moldy smells in the room or elevator, very clean towels, linens, carpets. The staff was nice- especially the security guys in the lobby. Also, a big thing was that even though its near the subway, the noise coming in from the outside is about 100% less than if you stay in Manhatten which was a big bonus- no sirens going at all hours, cabs honking, people shouting til 4am- very quiet for New York- I was actually able to sleep!”

“I would not suggest anyone to go to this hotel unless, it was for free and don't forget to be on your guard for anything happening happening to you or anyone else on or off the premisis in the vicinity of the hotel...”

“Good hotel despite the location. The hotel itself was fine, good staff, clean, comfortable room. The AC didn't work so well but it was passable. Fine for one night of business travel. The problem was the location. Thought I got a real deal because it was a 15 minute subway ride out of Manhattan - it wasn't cheap because of that, it was cheap because its in the ghetto. Hotel was really close to the subway so only felt unsafe for a few minutes walking back but was enough to scare me (single female travelling alone). Would not stay in that area again. If you come from a big city it might not faze you but I was freaked.”

“The hotel was a solid comfortable hotel, by Comfort Inn Standards. I've stayed in many Comfort Inns and this one is certainly on par with the many other Comfort Inn locations I have stayed.”

“The hotel is very convenient to the subway. The neighborhood isn't the greatest, but I never felt scared. The breakfast area is tiny, but breakfast was decent. They replaced my shower head, because it was very weak. I heard the subway a lot because we are so close to the station. My room had peeling wallpaper.”

“This hotel is kind of off the beaten path but right around the corner from the subway, which is just a short ride into the downtown. The staff was very friendly. The only downside is that the breakfast area is so small - only three tables - and the space isn't very big so you really have to do a lot of maneuvering to get your breakfast. But once you did get something, it was good. I would definitely stay here again.”

“Pro: It was clean. Con: Our door would not dead bolt and the chain was broken. Does not make you feel safe. Our remote was broken. Instead of sending a concierge or front desk employee with a new remote, they sent a maintenance guy with two batteries who invited himself into our room and installed them. Slightly intrusive staff. Pro: Very professional and helpful. Con: None. Pro: Staff member was kindly escorting an attractive female wearing a cocktail dress, four inch heels, and big dangly ear-rings at 1:00 in the afternoon. Con: Two long blocks are too sketchy to walk after dark. You'll have to pay for a cab to drop you off at the door to avoid walking through large groups of people standing on corners for no apparent reason. Notes: Almost every person staying at this hotel was European which is sort of inexplicable. Why would you stay next to a junk yard surrounded by the projects after paying a thousand dollars on a flight? One thing is for sure. Don't stay here if you are not comfortable in the ghetto and don't stay here if you have children. Please understand. This hotel is rather new and very well kept. It is just out-of-place in Queens. Too nice. Our experience inside the hotel was fine, our experience outside the hotel was not the kind of experience you expect from a 2.5 star Comfort Inn and not the kind of experience you expect on vacation.”

“Because we were in New York City area, we did not expect to be the luxurious place but nevertheless, it was not what I expected for the money. The rooms were very tight including bedroom and fitness/business room. I could not wait to get out of the hotel each morning so I can breathe better.”

“The location is really convenient - only one minute from the Subway station. The staffs is helpful. We can also find a convenient printer station to print out our bus tickets. The continental breakfast is very nice. The neighborhood is a little complicated but it is not a big deal since it's less than one minute from the Subway station.”

“We stayed at this hotel to tour NYC and were not expecting to spend too much time at the hotel room. It was close to the Subway which allowed us to get where we were going in Manhattan. It had a very good, basic breakfast that helped save time in getting started in the morning. The bed was comfortable and although the room was a little small. It allowed us a good base for seeing the city.”

“I was shocked at the decency of the inside of the hotel and the rooms compared to the surrounding area. Rooms were small, but smelled good and were clean. Continental breakfast was provided and public transportation easy to use. Only drawback was the area looked scary and ghettoish, but we had no problems while staying there, other than the tub not draining after a shower and getting switched to a smoking room (which wasn't that bad despite all of us suffering from allergies to smoke). I'd stay there again if I was on a budget.”

“This is a fine place to stay if you are not concerned about on-street parking in a dark, poorly lit neighborhood that abuts a fenced in dump. The dump was visible only in the daylight, looking out our 8th floor room window. I have never been to Long Island before but it was a poor first impression. The room itself, the hotel itself, and the staff was all very good. The bed was comfortable although the room was on the small side. I give the lodging experience a C.”

“It was very convenient for getting to all parts of NYC via the subway. The continental breakfast was sufficient, but there was not enough space for all the customers to eat each day. I was not happy about having to pay an extra $35/night for a rollaway cot to accommodate 3 people in one room. Compared to other hotels in/near NYC, it was an acceptable alternative.”

“Great quiet location. Easy for Subway and wonderful local independent restaurants. The staff was most helpful and friendly. The housekeeping staff had a very neat and clean appearance. Room always great at end of day. Asked to have air conditioning left just a bit to make end of day and exhaustion a little more bearable. Would recommend to anyone for price. I hope to send them a thank you note.”

“For a Comfort Suites, the hotel was beautiful. The rooms were very clean and seem to have been updated recently. The only down side to the rooms is that they were quite small, but what can you expect when you are in a city as cramped as New York. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff was wonderful, the hotel was clean, has a great workout room, business center, and free breakfast. The most you can get for your money.”

“Overall, the hotel was nice for the area. The hotel itself appears to be new and the rooms are decent and clean. The air conditioner in the room we stayed in could have been in a better location but still did its job. The location of the hotel was very poor. Across the street there was a huge pile of trash/junk and run down buildings. However, the Subway is only 1 block away. We were told by a fellow vacationer not to travel anywhere in Long Island City by ourselves (3 women) unless we were in a taxi or walking to the Subway station into Manhattan.”
