• The breakfast was very good.
• A/C didn't work.

“My wife planned a week-end getaway for us at the Lava Hot Springs Hotel one July, and we were very disappointed. When we arrived, we were shown to our room, which was about 10' by 12'. There was no bath attached to the room, and there was no air conditioning. We were also given the option to upgrade our room to a room with a private Jacuzzi in the room and a bathroom. Since we thought the more expensive room had to be a lot better, we upgraded. The room had a large television with DVD and VHS players, as well as cable, a queen bed, and the Jacuzzi, so it wasn't all bad, but the bathroom was a 2 1/2' by 5' closet with toilet. The sink was next to the TV. The worst part about the room, however, was the air conditioning. From what the staff at the hotel told me, it the rooms were supposed to be cooled by a fan blowing past some pipes with cold water in them. It didn't work well to begin with, and when people began arriving back at their rooms and turning on their A/C units, which were all connected to the same water source, it was useless to have them on. By 1:00 am, the heat was too unbearable to sleep. We will not be going back there.”

• Wonderful location, clean and friendly people.
• A shared bathroom. but what the heck that's western family living.

“I find Lava Hot springs Inn to be clean and nice. The bathrooms are across the hall and very western style. This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Lava hot springs spas and pools.”
