  • Authentic colonial atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, close to Boston and train.
  • Older rooms and furniture though that's part of the colonial experience.

“One of the bars in the hotel was the original portion of the building built in 1716. Very cool. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant and unique experience kind of like an over sized bed & breakfast.”

  • Cozy and comfortable. Very clean and in a great part of town.
  • No room service and old fashioned.

“At first glance the hotel did not meet my expectations but I made the best of it! I am bit of a hotel snob and usually like to stay at modern and high end facilities. However, I would stay at this hotel again because it was so cozy and comfortable. The town of Concord is historic and the hotel just seemed to fit right in. I felt like I had traveled back in time and even though I was on a business trip I never felt more rested and level headed when I returned home. Sometimes it is good to try things out of your comfort zone---you never know how much you may like it and learn about yourself. I will be coming back to the Concord Inn with my family in th future.”

  • The room was very clean. The restaurant was great, price and quality.
  • Room furniture old (not antique old) and worn. Space around the door (you could see light in hallway).

“If you're looking for quaint, this is it. From wallpaper to pictures on hallway walls, there is a taste of Americana. The staff, especially during the day, is happy and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant is a delightful experience, from the tales the host tells to very tasty American style food. You don't need a car to get around town; the hotel is right in the middle of the town square.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location. Participation by local music community in entertainment.
  • Furniture looked as though it came from a garage sale. Not all rooms have baths.

“Incredible location, and only 1 competitor a couple of doors down. Right smack in the middle of very beautiful down town Concord. Lovely dining room, low ceilings, dark wood, not bad food, good service. Rooms unevenly decorated, and YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED A BATH TUB, which might matter to soakers, such as myself.”

  • Nothing.
  • Size of room and bathroom.

“The room was incredibly small. The bed linens were not at all comfortable and actually scratchy. There was only 1 heat setting (hot) and one night during the week there was a band playing upstairs that could be heard through the entire hotel. If you are going to experience the historic area of Concord then this may be an ok hotel for you. I, personally, was not at all charmed as I was traveling on business and the internet didn't work for 2 days and then when it did it was slow. The rooms were hot, stuffy and very small. The shower was so tiny that I could barely fit and I'm 5'2 and petite. Overall, not at all satisfied with this hotel.”

  • Wonderful history, great location, good public areas.
  • The room was terrible.

“All was good in this Inn except for the room. It was very tiny, it was in the basement, the HVAC did not work properly, it was very noisy as it was in the basement right next to a busy road. Although the Inn was almost empty, the staff repeatedly refused to move us to another room. We endured three nights of hell.”

  • Location and historicity.

“Beautiful historic hotel, facilities limited by age but are more than compensated for by the location and historic Nature of the facility.”

  • The food.
  • Information needs updating, wall placards, room billfold etc.

“It was okay, was looking for a romantic weekend and it felt like we back to another time zone. All we needed was for a big black rotary dial telephone available only from the fron counter. The heating system seemed to be fixed on one setting and it didn't have any writing or markings on/around the adjustment knob. Food/restaurant was great!”

  • Charming older hotel in quaint community - great location.
  • One room was noisy, the other was always cold.

“We were disappointed to be placed near the pub and its noise when there were other empty rooms farther away on the same floor. The second room needed a space heater at all times to keep the room warm enough for comfort. Overall, a wonderful hotel and location.”

  • It has great lobby and overall look of the hotel.
  • The rooms are not 3 star levels at all they are in the basement and are really tiny.

“If you like a hotel that has old world charm it is great, but the room are tiny and bathroom are so small that you would feel like a giant. Also my doors are thin or something you could hear everything from outside hall very annoying if you want a good night sleep.”

  • Historical location- nice area for tourists and honeymooners.
  • Hotel is a maze of doors, corridors, twists and turns.

“A little off the beaten track, unless looking for Lexington concord revolutionary history. Historical building, maybe quirky and romantic for some, but otherwise not enough parking, especially during restaurant hours; also interior is a maze of stairs (no elevators), twists and turns, and difficult access (went past laundry and trash areas coming and going, unless from front, where there is no parking). Rooms have strange angles, mysterious locked doors. Bedspread looked like my mothers 40 years ago - certainly historic old furniture, wood trim, heaters, etc.”

  • This was a charming, historic hotel.
  • The location was far from any supporting services.

“You will be roughing it here! This hotel is a historic hotel originally built in the 1700's. Certainly, a refreshing experience for someone who spends 3-4 nights in a hotel every week for business. It really is moa suited to a "weekend getaway" hotel than a mid-week staple, due to its rather remote location. Rooms were plain, but noisy. Bathrooms were way too small, with only a 4 square foot stall shower.”

  • Location, location, location.
  • Overpriced for the quality of the accommodations.

“The hotel was very quaint and quite convenient (being in the center of town). The staff bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The enjoyment of the stay, however, was diminished by the undersized bathroom, dirty carpets and the incessant pounding from the room above.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[7] • Location:[7]

  • It was very quaint and the staff were very nice.
  • The TV was very old and had a color problem, the AC was an old wall unit hard to reach to control.

“Needs some updating. However, it had charm, and most of the staff were very nice. They did not have two double beds which we would have needed if we were not sisters, and so we had to sleep together since no other rooms were available.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[4] • Location:[10]

  • The location was nice.
  • No room service, unfriendly, fire alarm went off and the fire door was locked, no assistance from staff during this.

“The rooms were way too small. The bed and the pillows were lumpy. The room stink like oil based paint. The staff was stuffy and unaccommodating. When the fire alarm sounded and we followed the instructions to the nearest fire exit it was locked. There was no one around to assist us to another exit and we went two or three directions before finding our way outside.”

  • Great food, friendly helpful staff, very historic, different than usual hotels.
  • Limited parking.

“The Concord's Colonial Inn was a unexpected delight. The historic significance was intriguing I loved the artwork lining hallways and dining rooms. The food was not your usual generic hotel food. A cozy bar and restaurant was nice with friendly atmosphere and great service. The staff proved to be professional yet friendly and personal. A very difficult combination. The "haunted room" added to the unique, historic ambiance of this pleasant, cozy, clean, and friendly inn. My stay was very nice and I will return and refer to friends and family.”

  • Historic hotel in a prime historic area. Attractive town square location.
  • Parking a little crowded, but no more than expected for the area.

“Charming hotel atmosphere with fine dining and cocktail lounge facilities. A little off the beaten track for business travelers, but still relatively close ( 5 miles) to route 128. Starbucks nearby. Rooms are attractively historic but not modern.”

  • I liked its historical character. (Former home of Thoreau).
  • Too far off the beaten path for me. Need to be close to interstates.

“For a romantic weekend getaway, this is the perfect spot. If my wife were visiting me while I was on the road, this is the kind of place I would like to stay. Not a great choice for the business traveler though. All in all an enjoyable stay however.”
