  • Availability to major areas of interest.
  • Needs upgrading badly.

“This hotel (motel) is good considering its low priced for the accommodation ans clean. Personnel are very helpful.”

  • Nothing was likable about this motel.
  • Not just a budget motel, but a low end budget hotel.

“The room smelled funny when I arrived. The towels were almost threadbare. The room was tidy but strictly low end. There was no internet connection in the room but was one in the tiny cramped lobby - except that computer suffered a hard disk problem and was unusable. There was no closet for clothes to be hung up, just an extension rack from the wall next to the bathroom door. Some college kids were in the room above me and with all the cracking noise I heard from the ceiling I truly thought the ceiling might give way. Fortunately the ceiling held and I lived to tell my story and this information on to the reader.”

“A good place to stay to be close to U of MA, with no amenities. Free coffee in AM was the highlight of the experience.”

  • Proximity to Amherst proper, Amherst College and Umass.
  • Price ($144) for the room is very expensive for the overall quality of the facility.

“Midtown, between UMass campus and the Town proper. Easy access to colleges, shopping, culinary opportunities. The facility is very basic; two double beds, curtains on the window and tub/ shower. Clean, neat but rather stark in furnishings. Hotel staff were courteous and willing to assist the traveler. Late arrival/ check-out were accommodated. However, the room was at the level of a Motel Six for the price of five nights at the Motel Six. If I didn't need the proximity, I'd check in at the HoJo's, Quality Inn, etc. for 2/3 less.”

  • The only thing I liked was it being close to the University.
  • The carpet had stains on it. The bathroom floor had embedded dirt on the floor. There was cobwebs on the ceiling corners for the price of the room.

“I was very disappointed in the condition of the room. It looked like there were several frat parties in that room which caused the room to be so dirty. I know that I paid too much money for the room that I stayed in. I pay money for comfort and cleanliness., not the dirty carpet, dirty bathroom floor and cobwebs on the corners of the ceiling.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Location close to campus.
  • Easy to hear people above me walking and talking at 3 am.

“Located close to Amherst and U Mass campus it is a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not as contemporary as big name hotels, but clean and welcoming. It was a nice place to stay for a couple days. I would venture to say that some students live in the hotel and I could hear voices and activity at 3 am (but living on a college campus myself I am used to it).”
