• It had all facility I was looking for in a hotel.
• I am not sure what I did not like.

• Location/access to highways.
• We were placed in a smoking room that even the curtains had smoke stain throughout.

“The receptionist stated when I complained of a smoking room--well you booked it on Priceline and therefore you had to just take what was left andwe are full today. when
I stated I had allergies she said she could take the ashtrays out of the room or for twenty dollars they would ionize the room.”

• Convenient to Penn State, clean, comfortable, a good value.
• The location is a little hard to find.

“For the price, this was an excellent value. We had a first floor room, next to the fitness center and immediately off of the lobby. I was worried we would be awakened during the night by late-night revelers, but we did not hear a thing. The staff was courteous and the morning breakfast set-up was more than adequate. I would certainly stay here again.”

• The rooms are very new and very clean.
• Location was a little remote.

“Overall, a very good hotel, especially as a Holiday Inn Express. Aside from the slightly remote location, it is probably the best hotel in State College.”

• Friendly people.
• Shopworn furniture in room.

“Needs renovation of rooms. Torn or worn arms on desk chair gives a seedy impression. Holiday in satisfaction guar was nice but front desk didn't have or couldn't locate a corkscrew. People were very nice however.”

• It was new and clean and nicer than expected!
• I have no negatives to add.

• It was conveinient
• no ice on the first floor

“The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was exceptional. The breakfast was great. They had enough choices that I ate different each morning.”

• Nice location, complimentary breakfast.
• There was machine noise throughout the night from outside the room, even with doors and windows closed. It was some hotel equipment.

“Very nice, except that from the room we had (#219) we heard non-stop noise throughout the night, even with windows shut and door closed. It sounded like a motor running throughout the night. It was coming from close by and had to be a hotel owned equipment.”

• The hotel was in a convenient location.
• Room was not ready at check-in & had to wait with 3 young kids. Was given a wheelchair-accessible room instead.

“Although staff and facilities were acceptable, I was very upset about check-in. I arrived at 4:30 (over an hour after check-in at 3pm). Room was not ready so my family (3 kids under age 5) was required to wait for 40 min for a room. After asking for a resolution, was given a wheelchair-accessible room with no tub (couldn't bathe my young children). I was also late for my business meeting that evening b/c I had to wait for a room.”

• The staff was very friendly. The room was very nice. The location was perfect.
• My room could have been a bit cleaner. They did have a late check out though from a sports team. So, it was okay.

“I would highly recommend Holiday Inn Express. The atmosphere was great. It is close to major restaurants and shopping. It is about 2 miles from the Penn state campus which is also convenient. As a parent traveler of a Penn state student, it is nice to be a bit further from campus.”

• Hotel was convenient and room was beautiful.
• Free hot breakfast was disappointing. Had to wait for eggs, biscuits, and they ran out of plates.

“The hotel is conveniently located off of route 322. I was pleased with the size and cleanliness of the room. The room met or exceeded some 3 or 4 star facilities I stayed at in the past. I would stay here again.”

• Hotel is completely new, rooms are very clean, staff very friendly and attentive.
• Amenities were lacking, bed was uncomfortable.

“This hotel is new and very clean! The lobby was luxurious, the staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean and new. However, despite those advantages, this hotel is obviously a budget hotel (the curtains in the rooms were for show, they didn't pull close and the bed was a very clunky spring mattress).”

• Clean, comfortable.
• No pool or hot-tub.

“This is a modern, clean, comfortable, no-frills hotel. It is relatively new and is well kept. The entire hotel was clean and quiet. The rooms were clean and comfortable with comfortable beds, pillows and nice linens. The bathroom was well lit and well appointed. The continental breakfast included a decent selection including fruit, coffee, tea, juices, muffins, cereals, etc. The location is in close proximity to both Penn State University and downtown State College. There is an Outback Steakhouse connected to the property, and many options for dining within 1/2 mile or less driving distance.”

• The staff was friendly and very accommodating; found me a needle and thread when I needed it. Beautiful and clean room.

• The bed was comfortable, the room spacious and clean.
• It was to far from our sons house.

“We enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was good, the bed comfortable, the blanket/duvet on the bed just right, not heavy. The couch was nice to have as I like to read late into the night.”
