“Rooms were very well situated on a lake with a balcony - the price was very reasonable due to the big conventions they held.”

“Despite their acknowledging that my room was prepaid, they still tried to charge me additional monies for the room. When I complained, they admitted their error.”

“I was disappointed. The bathroom was very small and old looking. Plus not modern. No fan and small sink. The curtains were sheer so you could see through them. This was bad. No privacy whatsoever. Plus restaurants were disappointing for such a large hotel.”

“Although this property is in a wonderful location, I would not book another stay here. The Wi-Fi connection is shaky at best. The smell in my non-smoking room was a combination of an ashtray and sweat socks. The bathroom left a lot to be desired as the veneer on the cabinet was coming off due to over exposure to water. When you arrive at the hotel you are given a map of the property which is wonderful because without it you would not be able to find your way around. I will say that if you are lucky enough to have a room with a view of the lake or miniature golf course, you will at least have a decent view. I feel sorry for those that overlook the indoor pool - they have no idea what the weather is like and must hear every echo from the pool, spa and conversations of others passing by.”

“This hotel is a place for families. If you are looking for a place to stay for quiet this is not the place for you. My room faced on the patio where the pool was located. It was very loud. Also, there were no windows in my room. The gym had equipment that was so old it was unusable. There is free wireless internet in each room, but there is not place to plug your computer into the internet if you do not have wireless.”

“A large inn with many rooms, a generous pool and spa area in the atrium, and comfortable rooms that is very quiet. I had dinner at the restaurant with a convenient entrance off of the lobby, but the food was nothing noteworthy.”

“The hotel is located a few blocks from the entrance to Old Sturbridge Village, which was the purpose of our trip, so it was very convenient. The weekend we were there, the hotel was hosting a craft fair and sale, which was open to the public. There were lines of people waiting to get in and lines of cars looking for parking spots. None of the parking was reserved for hotel guests, so coming and going was a big hassle, much like parking at a sports event. Rooms either overlook a nice lake or the hotel atrium, an enclosed space where the pool is located, as well as gathering areas. Unfortunately, this atrium was where many of the craft booths were set up, so the day before the fair all day long and well into the evening there was constant noise - people pushing dollies loaded with their wares and yelling to each other, children and teens running all over the place. When the fair opened to the public it was like being in the center of it all whether you wanted to or not, even with the sliding doors closed. Glaring lights all night long and a kind of circus-like atmosphere with all those people and the strong smell of kettle korn (or rather the oil they cook it in). There was a nice little balcony with chairs overlooking the atrium, which might have been nice had there not been this fair going on, a nice place to sit and relax and maybe have breakfast. I can only assume it was calm and peaceful in the rooms facing the lake. Apparently those rooms are more expensive. The outside doors were propped open by the exhibitors, so the interior hallways were very cold (it was in the 30s outside). This also made for a security issue, considering the hundreds of non-guests milling about the property. The room was very cold when we first got there, but comfortable once the heat kicked in, basically unmemorable. It could've been cleaner - I got the feeling they just barely put it together for each new guest.”

“We had a conference being held there. It was dark and dreary. I would not recommend this hotel for anything other than it being inexpensive with some amenities like the indoor pool for a family.

“Great hotel. Very comfortable rooms and good staff. Also hotel is pet friendly, which is a plus. We have stayed at the hotel many times and our favorite time is the summer as we get to use the beach and the beautiful lake.”

“This hotel is an older Sheraton style place with a large indoor courtyard that can be used as a function facility. The courtyard is surround on 3 sides by rooms on 2 level with a balcony or sliders to a patio. One end has of the courtyard has a pool, and the lobby end has an indoor restaurant. The room was good sized and looked like it was recently renovated. It had one of those new cup at a time coffee makers, but only one pod of regular and one of decaf. One of the 2 double beds had a better mattress so we used that one. The downside of rooms overlooking the courtyard is the noise. People were congregating out there until almost Midnight and we had to call the front desk twice before the people quieted down or went back to their rooms. On a good note, there was a torrential downpour of rain the evening of our stay and the front desk called us when part of their parking lot started flooding. I was able to move my car before the water rose enough to do damage. If you want quiet, I would recommend asking for a room that is not on the courtyard.”

“The hotel staff was extremely rude to my entire family, and made my wife cry twice. Room service food was absolutely FANTASTIC, when it finally arrived. Yet, even though I ordered room service twice a day for my entire three day stay, not once did the food come without forgetting something (twice they forgot silverware, and three times they forgot the drinks). The hotel has a ton of things for kids to do, including swimming and fishing and paddleboats on the lake. But if you're used to/expecting a Marriot-type setting (as we were) stay elsewhere. The entire hotel has a very rustic/hunting lodge feel to it. That, plus the fact that it is smack-dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere, and added with the hotel staff, adds up to my family, friends and I never returning to this particular hotel”

“Stains all over couch, they covered it with a sheet at my request. No cable, they said it wasn't their fault, it was the cable company. Restaurant was sold out of almost all entrees. Very Noisy, kept up until 3:20 AM. Broken patios doors, felt that belongings were not safe. Room stunk of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The lobby was nice but the hotel was old and felt and smelled very unclean.”

“Sprawling old semi-resort. Very low key. Often has events. For this stay, very nice cat show (hundreds of beautiful cats being judged) and outdoor Jaguar auto owners with about 80 stunning cars from 1930s to 2009.”

“It is a nice hotel, clean rooms, could use some updates but the worst part is the pool. In the center of the hotel is an indoor pool, indoor gazebo etc. Every single time I stay there - it is freezing and dirty. I stay at this hotel for business and because I have children.”

“We really like staying at the Host when we are in the Sturbridge area (which is a lot). The only criticism: Can they please make sure the maids check the shower curtains? Ours was moldy in a spot under a fold. But - the new beds, carpet and baths are great - hopefully they will keep the nice new carpets clean in the pet rooms. There is nothing I hate more than dirty carpet and fleas! My dog doesn't have fleas, and I don't want them, either! Thanks!”
