“Nice hotel, but area location was questionable, didn't seem safe to walk places. Entrance was not easily accessible.”

“Sad, that they call this a Historic hotel. Yes, the building is beautiful but that is it. The hotel part needs a lot of work. It is in an unsafe, parking was awful, no room service past 10 pm. Room smelled bad, looked old and tired. AC was awful, bathroom was not clean. If you have an old hotel you have to work that much harder to make it feel clean. The elevator also is very scary. I will not stay there again. Not sure who wrote the good reviews here.”

“Hotel is in downtown Reading. Wasn't my first choice, but we were visiting my friends' restaurant, The Arbor Inn, in nearby St Lawrence. The room we were assigned to was well kept, clean and spacious. I love the fact that this is a national landmark building-the lobby speaks volumes of guests from the past, including John Philip Sousa. The bed (most hotels don't care how the patron sleeps at night) was very comfortable. Check out time is reasonable. Parking garage was probably the only inconvenient event, but understandable as there aren't many safe places to park otherwise. There even was a wedding reception going on in the hotel-we didn't hear a peep (it seems as if the rooms or hallway are reasonably soundproofed). I enjoyed our short stay at this hotel, and definitely plan to stay here again when visiting our friends restaurant.”

“It's old, dark and dirty. The rooms smell of 140 years of smoking. That smell does not go away with a no-smoking sign. They charge for parking. The bathroom had mold. Although hard to see because it was so dark. The food (club sandwich) was sub standard. This is a 2 star hotel at best.”

“great location if you want to be downtown; also easy access to nearby local areas and restaurants. Hotel bed nice, but overall furnishings and decor look a little tired.”

“The hotel has been renovated and is not worn down, but you can see where the renovation cut corners. The hallways are institutional. There are not enough plugs by modern standards. The sink stopper in the bathroom didn't work. The AC couldn't keep the room below 70 degrees although it was cold outside. Staff was very nice.”

“I would just like to say this was a very beautiful & comfortable hotel with very friendly employee's. My room service was very fast & very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to an event in the downtown reading area.”

“My particular corner room was spacious and bright with nice views. The room needed an upholstered casual chair for sitting. Good location for downtown activities.”

“The Abraham Lincoln is a grand old hotel that has been restored with modern amenities. It is clean, quiet and provides a sense of well being. I would stay there again.”

“From the moment we reached there staff was extremely welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Their recommendations for local restaurants were on the target. Hotel met all the expectations as a family traveler with kids, however, I feel it is more designed for business travelers. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.”

“We loved the room and the hotel, but there was no parking for our truck. So we parked across the street at the bank but had to move by 8 am.”

“The Abraham Lincoln was clean as a whistle, beautiful old fashion lobby, excellent front desk staff. Just watch out in the parking ramp as you can't get a big van or large SUV in there. Was out of date size wise. Internet worked fine. Just wish there was a complimentary breakfast. But overall very pleased.”

“I was supposed to stay 6 days, but checked out after 3. The room was in bad shape. Toilet was dripping, and the best housekeeping could do was put a cofee mug under the sink. I had to put a bucket (trash can) to avoid entering a wet bathroom. Shower rod was shaky and could fall anytime on head. This place is a safety hazard!”

“It is certainly a hotel we would return to. Central to the things we wanted to do. Not to far from shopping and food areas. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was pleasant.”

“Hotel was standard. Wasn't overly impressed with room/service, yet wasn't overly disappointed. Nothing stuck out of the ordinary, which is why I rated it only a 2.5. If I stayed at a Wyndham elsewhere around the country it would have been much more upscale.”
