  • Location, staff, rooms.
  • A small issue - some of the bathrooms may be in need for upgrade.

“From the moment we reached there staff was extremely welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Their recommendations for local restaurants were on the target. Hotel met all the expectations as a family traveler with kids, however, I feel it is more designed for business travelers. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.”

  • Loved the room.
  • No parking.

“We loved the room and the hotel, but there was no parking for our truck. So we parked across the street at the bank but had to move by 8 am.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • Front desk staff was very professional. Neat, clean and spoke English.
  • Parking is a bit tricky using the municipal ramp.

“The Abraham Lincoln was clean as a whistle, beautiful old fashion lobby, excellent front desk staff. Just watch out in the parking ramp as you can't get a big van or large SUV in there. Was out of date size wise. Internet worked fine. Just wish there was a complimentary breakfast. But overall very pleased.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[5] • Location:[1]

  • Front desk was friendly despite being limited on help.
  • Toilet dripping, stained carpet, bad location.

“I was supposed to stay 6 days, but checked out after 3. The room was in bad shape. Toilet was dripping, and the best housekeeping could do was put a cofee mug under the sink. I had to put a bucket (trash can) to avoid entering a wet bathroom. Shower rod was shaky and could fall anytime on head. This place is a safety hazard!”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • We had no interruptions the entire time we stayed. Wasn't rushed. Good old fashioned decor.
  • Room were not as modern & spacious as I had assumed.

“Hotel was standard. Wasn't overly impressed with room/service, yet wasn't overly disappointed. Nothing stuck out of the ordinary, which is why I rated it only a 2.5. If I stayed at a Wyndham elsewhere around the country it would have been much more upscale.”

“Overall, this is a good hotel, older with small elevator, but very clean. Drawback, there is a $6 fee for parking per night.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[6]

  • Comfortable and spacious rooms.
  • Not much to do within walking distance.

“My girlfriend and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at this hotel. It was a lovely time at the hotel, but upon leaving to find a night club/local pub we found out there were none in the immediate area.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[6]

  • The hotel room was attractive for a historical hotel room. A lot of updates. The room was huge. They had great room service. The staff was real friend.
  • It was difficult to find.

“This isn't the greatest hotel in Reading, but I'd recommend it, because of the stuff that surrounds it. It is hard to find, but once found, you won't regret it.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[1]

  • The rooms were comfortable and clean. The best bed Ive ever slept in and the rooms smelled clean and fresh.
  • The hotel is located in an extremely unsafe neighborhood.

“Although this hotel is comfortable and clean and the service friendly, it is located in an unsafe area. The first night we stayed, two of our traveling companions' cars were broken into and their windows were smashed. That day, five cars were vandalized and they were parked in the parking garage! Bands of young men roam the streets at night. I wouldnt allow my children anywhere in the hotel without me. This in not a safe place.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[7]

  • It is a beautiful building, and the price was right.
  • I ate at the Tavern, 30 bucks for a glass of wine, a salad, and really lousy lasagna. Overpriced mediocre dinner.

“It is a beautiful building and the facilities are nice. My room was on the 16th floor, and the bed was plush, room was clean. The dinner I had at the tavern was overpriced, the lasagna a tasteless glob of cheese over some ground beef. Maybe the dining room is better, but it seemed a bit pricey. Staff is friendly. They validate your parking in the building's garage. Overall, a good value, if you have to stay in Reading.”

  • The convenient business center was an appreciated resource.
  • Downtown Reading, PA is not a very comfortable space for safety reasons.

“This classic upscale hotel is in good condition. The rooms are adequately appointed; if not designed for optimal mobility. The classic dining area is an appealing environment for social occasions. The staff is very helpful and the facilities meet most all needs.”

  • Friendly clean comfortable enjoyable stay.
  • Can't, it was perfect. But would suggest larger coffee makers per request be available.

“Can't say enough wonderful remarks for this stay. We look forward for our next stay and may even just plan it sooner then later. Actually wanted to extend our stay but was unable due to time constraints. We did not have children with us but saw many children as guest.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[1] • Location:[1]

  • Nice lobby.
  • No security, understaffed, dangerous location, poor service.

“This hotel is to be avoided. To begin with, the location is horrible and the hotel is understaffed with no security. We were there for a major event at the Soverign Center that drew 9000 people, and this hotel definitely wasn't ready to handle it. Downtown Reading is a horrible place after dark. I The service was horrible in the restaurant and bar. The room was small and dirty for the amount we paid. This hotel stinks as do all Wyndhams. Every one I've ever stayed in lacked security and was grossly understaffed with employees who aren't being paid enough to care.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[5]

  • Very close to the Sovereign Performing Arts Ctr.
  • Did not feel particularly comfortable walking through the town at night.

“The staff of the hotel was excellent, the hotel itself is beautiful, historic. The town is a rundown railroad town, and it is obvious that the crime rate is high. The hotel is a block and a half from the Sovereign Performing Arts center which is absolutely beautiful, there are several great historic buildings close by.”

  • Exceptional Staff and Comfortable--Great Value!
  • Parking was attached--$5.00 per night.

“Thought the property and staff were wonderful. Downtown was quiet. Hotel only 1/2 mile off of highway (it's a SMALL city). We like the Google works Arts Center (two blocks from hotel). Dozens of artists working. Very nice, would definitely return.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The hotel was centrally located, had a microwave and fridge and the service was great.
  • The air conditioning had some problems.

“The hotel was very nice. The rooms were spacious. It was wonderful having a microwave and fridge - with a family of little ones, this was exactly what we needed. The only problem is that the air conditioning is all or nothing -- they have old time window air conditioners that are very good at keeping the room chilly but once they reach a certain temp they turn off and the room gets very hot until the air conditioner turns on again.”
