“We stayed on the fourth floor looking North. Beautiful view, fantastic two bedroom condo. Only problem was an item missing from our luggage. It was obvious that someone had been inside the suitcase. Contacted management, I was told they would contact the cleaning staff. I received a call from management and was told that cleaning knew nothing of the missing item. Don't think they took my complaint seriously. Use the room safe for all valuables. The ones that won't fit would probably be safer in your vehicles trunk.”

“The hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again, only probably in a larger room or suite. Beds were very uncomfortable.”

“We took a quick getaway with our teenagers. It was great to have such a spacious room [non-efficiency] ocean-front and over looking the Lazy river & pool from the balcony.”

“My ocean view was a view on a column and a side road. In order to view ocean you had to lean over balcony because column blocks view. Hotel needs to be updated. Air condition made moisture in room unbearable. I expected a lot more for my money.”

“The view of the beach from the Grand Shores Resort was excellent. My problem was with the staff members. When we arrived at the hotel, the wait staff person appeared to be racist. I believe this because of the way she looked at me and my child and the fact that she would not hand me anything back she just put in down after using it. I also needed to use the internet for some work which is why I chose this hotel because of the convenience of being able to use the internet while looking at the beach view. We were not able to connect and made contact with the staff. The young man that they sent to us had no idea what he was doing and later we learned that he was the tech guy/garbage man/light bulb fixer etc. We were able to connect on the patio but this particular day it happened to be very foggy and sitting on the patio would have caused condensation to get into our systems. When we contacted the front desk again and informed them of how we were able to connect, the person indicated that, at least you can connect on the balcony. I was very offended by this comment because it showed a lack of concern for our equipment and for us as guests in the hotel. She then informed me that her tech person told her that the fog had something to do with not being able to get access but if that was the case, why were we able to get a connection outside, it was the same fog. The next day the staff was much more pleasant and yet again I complained about the wireless access and who did they send back to the room but the same young man who knew nothing the day before. He was very pleasant however and I did not blame him for not knowing what to do with the wireless service. Then to top it off, they provided wired service and wanted to charge us to use the wire. I am from the east coast and this was my first time on the beach but I will certainly not stay at the Grand Shores again and will not recommend it to anyone.”

“This hotel was moderate. The parking is really good since they have the parking decks, but a little tight. We liked it though because we could park on the level with our room (no need to haul our stuff a long way). The beach is right behind the hotel, just past the pool and go down the steps. I wouldn't recommend staying on the first or second floor if you want to see the beach, but if you are on the 1st floor you can go out of the gate on the balcony and to the pool and/or beach. They charge $9 a person for breakfast. The room was big and had a mini kitchen and large bathroom. One thing I wondered about is the construction. It is still going on. It doesn't affect the stay, but its better to not be surprised to see it.”

“The overall stay was very pleasant. My children had a wonderful time. I felt safe and comfortable letting them go around the location w/out me at their side constantly (ages 12-14). The view from our oceanfront balcony was immaculate.”

“Wonderful location--halfway point between Barefoot Landing and Broadway on the Beach. Quiet, good for families, far away from the Spring Break end of town so you didn't have to deal with loud teenagers. Lots to do within walking distance, easy to find.”

“Hotel will be very nice once the major construction is complete. Access was difficult at best. Parking was convenient.”

“This was a fabulous place to stay. Great view of the beach and the decor was great. Not a plain folded washcloth in the place. I would stay again with no problem. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Far beyond my expectations.”

“Our overall stay was enjoyable - loved the convenient parking. The hotel could use some renovations as far as cosmetics. It is an older building that is not as attractive as the picture shows.”

“This was our first stay at the Grande Shores Ocean Resort and it was wonderful. The reception staffs were very helpful. We asked for directions and they printed an excellent set of directions to the location we wanted to go. The beach was great with not so many people. Car parking was great. Those pillows are wonderful and now we want some for our home. The cleaning staffs were something else; they even washed our dishes, wow. The view was the best as we overlooked a residential area and ocean front. The only negative thing we can think of was the seventh floor hot tubs; they were not working, which seemed like a mechanical problem. We will be back!” Amenities at Grande Shores Ocean Resort, Myrtle Beach
