“I arrived at Bonita Beach hotel prior to check-in time on July 4th, 2008. The lady at the front desk looked at me with no greeting and stated that I was well aware of the check-in time. Around check-in time the hotel allowed my party and I to check-in. This was July 4th, 2008, at almost 3:30 in the afternoon. Finding a hotel at that time in Ocean City, Maryland is unlikely, and if it does happen, expect to pay a higher than normal price. Bonita Beach hotel, the particular woman who worked that afternoon, as well as the hotel manager who is a male, older man, also working that afternoon, were impolite, not helpful, and showed no concern. My party and I were in the hotel lo.”

• Steps away from the beautiful beach, convenient and close to everything.
• The balconies, like most other hotels/condos in the area, did not allow for much privacy right next to each other. Elevators only at the front of the building.

“We are in our late 20's early 30's and very laid back. The hotel was great! Very clean, roomy and comfortable. It was just steps from the beautiful, quiet beach and was definitely in a prime location. The hotel was a very short drive (less than 4 minutes) from the boardwalk and everything else that ocean city has to offer. Many restaurants and shops were within walking distance (although we would rather bum on the beach). At first we were looking for a place on the boardwalk, but chose this hotel instead. We were more than pleased with the quiet and convenient location. The boardwalk is like a carnival-game, kids, lots of people, bustling and junk shops, and was very happy to be away from that. The "partial" view (just that the balcony was not facing either water side head on) from the balcony was of both the ocean and the bay, which was nice to get both, and more than what we expected. The beach was beautiful! We only saw one staff (the owner, which by the way is quite the talker!!) Literally only at our check in and check out, aside from the 2 cleaning staff who were quick and quiet. The hotel was clean and trendy. We had a kitchenette which included a sink, cabinets, microwave and full fridge, which was nice. They also had some plates and utensils, but we brought our own. The fitness center was skimpy (but who the heck works out on vacation?!) and the hair dryer worked fine (unlike many other places Ive been). The room also offered an iron and ironing board which came in handy. We had no problems at all! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone- family, couples or otherwise! We definitely plan on returning!”

• I had a view of the ocean and bay. It was newer.
• I did not like that they charged me extra money for my one son who is 14. Also charge for local calls and calling card calls.

“I have never had to pay extra before when I have rented a hotel room. Usually I pay one flat fee for the room. I was disappointed when I walked into the lobby. From the on-line pictures it is portrayed nicer. No stove or toaster in room. Not much class to the hotel.”

• It had a kitchenette which is always a good thing.
• It said ocean side which is a tricky way of saying next to the beach but no ocean VIEW.

• Liked the efficiency rooms & the adjoining rooms.
• No outdoor pool.

“It was a very nice place to stay. We took my parents with us and had adjoining rooms which worked out great for my son who could travel between our room & his grandparents room. Very nice location, very clean. We've already recommended it to friends who in turn stayed there too.”

• Very far, not cleaned, poor service.

“Not what was explained to me when I called the hotel, Very, Very far from everything, Beach was not well kept, garbage in overflowing cans, beer cans, bottles and cigarette butts all over the beach and in the sand? Cleaning staff was not very good with service; we could not get the room vacuumed at all in 5 days even after repeated calls for service. The pool was nice but once again was not well kept with sand and trash in that area. The local folks were rude and very short when asked a question. The hotel is located on a main highway that is very, very busy, and at least every hour there are police sirens going off. In fact many of the cars that were stopped by the police were out of state cars. Not a very friendly area. The one good thing is that the hotel was newer. But if I were to take another beach vacation it would be hands down to Virginia Beach that area is great and the locals are very friendly. The bottom line is, I tried it and I will never go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

• They have rooms that are a little larger to fit a family of five.
• The hotel was not as clean as I had hoped. The bathroom floor was dirty and there was trash under the sofa bed.

“The cleanliness of the hotel was slightly disappointing. A little more effort from housekeeping and maintenance would make a huge difference in the overall quality and appearance.”

• The location was great! Easy access to beach, restaurant, and entertainment.
• Last guest left food inside refrigerator. Smoke alarm missing cover and battery. No exhaust fan to take out shower steam.

“This hotel location was a plus, because it is in the center of Ocean City. The exterior and interior bright colors reminded me of a Florida type of decor, minus the flamingo. The rooms were large enough so the kids could play with their toys. The room allows for six people to sleep. The mattress was very firm and the pillows too fluffy and soft. The only downside is that there was no exhaust system to take out the shower steam. The bathroom will have mildew in no time. The dusty heating duct in the bathroom needed cleaning. The doors needed to be cleaned. I saw smears of food and whatever else on them. The walls are thin so you can hear people talking and the water running through the pipes. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being great), I rate this hotel a 7.”

• New and clean suites for standard room rate
• Bit far from beach, takes 20-30 mins on bus

“This is a new hotel that has suite rooms which are clean and nicely furnished. We looked at loads of hotels and for the price we paid, we got the most from this hotel. The room had a huge fridge and a big balcony with ocean view (but hotel is not on beach). The hotel is a bit far from the boardwalk but there is a convenient shuttle bus with frequent service to the beach. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. Highly recommended! ”
