For hikers, explore the resorts more than 20-miles of woodland trails. While out you are sure to see one of the many natural bridges and beautiful vistas of the lake. A draw for many visitors is the 9-hole regulation golf course that stretches out over the rolling hills of the resort park. The pro shop offers carts and resort souvenirs. If water attractions are more what you are looking for, take a guided canoe trip on the lake, play, fish or float around in Tygarts Creek. There is also a community pool with a diving well. Essential to any visit to this part of the state are the resorts cave tours. Of the 20-caves in the park, four are available for guided tours - Cascade Cave -noted for its large subterranean waterfall-, Saltpeter Cave -site of mining activity during the War of 1812-, Bat Cave -the largest and winter home for the endangered Indiana Bat-, and X-Cave -home of the largest stalactite in the part and unique x-formation tunnels-. More adventurous - Explore Laurel and Horn Hollow Caves on your own -permit required - no charge-. Besides the caves, the stables are a favorite hangout. Come and take a 45 minute guided ride on a three-mile trail. The resort offers a campground but for those less inclined to the outdoors, you may choose accommodations in the lodge -each room features a private balcony overlooking the woods- or a new, fully equipped cottage. The cottages can sleep eight -two bedrooms w/2 queen-sized beds each and 2 bathrooms- including a full kitchen, living room, deck and grill. The resort also offers miniature golf, playgrounds, horseshoes, and planned recreational programming. After all there is to do you will definitely work up an appetite.
