“What can you expect from a motel for $50.00/night? This motel was generally clean, but the neighborhood was a little scary. The motel did not have records of our reservation due to a problem with their fax machine they did not have a computer system for reservations. But, after a few calls, the problem was worked out. We were looking for cheap, and we found it.”

“I did not expect high quality because I knew this was a 1 star. I did expect cleanliness and this hotel was not clean. I would have canceled my reservation upon arrival if I was able to.”

“The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that my room was "ready" before the check-in time of 3 p.m. The pool was not operational. There were no towels in the room and when sent for, the clerk would only send 2 . . no more, even though we requested 4. The check-out clerk was very rude to my wife and daughter. The location of this motel is in a very bad part of Charleston!!!”

“I'm glad we only stayed one night here because it was both scary and dirty. It is in need of a major renovation. The mattresses, pillows and bed spreads were all either stained, dirty or had cigarette burns in them. The hotel room was not cleaned when we arrived, so I'm sure this impression would have been different if it had been cleaned.”

“I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The location immediately seemed unsafe. The property including pool were unkempt There were men joking and brawling outside my room on the walkway. My feet got black from walking on the carpet although the bed appeared clean. It was horrible! I travel a lot for business and pleasure, by myself and with a partner, over 50 nights a year and this is the worst place I've ever stayed. If I hadn't had a friend along I would not have stayed even though it was paid for!”

“I recommend that this hotel is avoided. Prostitutes frequent the hotel and approached us 10 minutes after we arrived. The pool was a very cloudy green color. The bathtub was dirty upon arrival. Management was told of these events and did nothing about them.”

“This hotel is in serious need of repair and I did not feel safe at all at this property. although the cost was low I would have preferred to pay a little more and have a nicer more secure environment”

“The is the worst hotel the wife and I have ever stayed at. First, the lobby smelled really bad. Then, the hotel employees argued with three people about their reservations being pre-paid and all of them had to call their respective travel sites to get them to confirm that their rooms were pre-paid. Then there were no room numbers on the doors so we had to guess as which one was ours. The room was filthy. Walls were nasty, floors were dirty, there was also a hole in the bathroom wall. We didn't feel safe walking around the hotel, especially at night. The bed was comfy, though.”

“Very bad crime filled area of town. Hotel was almost empty of customers all 5 nights that I stayed. Hotel manager tried to shake me down for extra cash when I requested two beds. Most rooms were empty, but I was still put up stairs. They did not answer the phone at all during the two days leading up to my arrival. I could not contact hotel ahead of time to confirm need for two beds. This is the second crime infested, drug and whore filled hotel that I have stayed in. Maybe you should add this to the descriptions on all your one star hotels.”

“Smelled like urine, had grout missing around its bath tiles, torn curtains from top to bottom, missing grout around the bath tiles, static on the 25+ year old TV set, dirty pillow cases and bed spread, chunks of the ceiling hanging down, and would only allow us to have 1 room key. the room only had 1 full size bed for 2 people, and management refused to change our room. when we asked for a refund, management refused so we were forced to check out and forfeit our fee. I don't understand how the best value inn franchise allows this hotel to be accredited.”

“Even though the staff was friendly, the inn was in poor shape and in an unwelcoming neighborhood. The room smelled very strongly of disinfectant, the air conditioner was not functioning properly and I had to contact the desk at 2:00 AM. The loud noise of the AC kept me from falling asleep and I was not able to shut it off. ”

“This hotel was good for me. The neighborhood was not the best, but no-one bothered us. You do have to ask for amenities at the front desk, i.e. iron, hairdryer. Everything we asked for was furnished promptly and efficiently. The hotel itself is older and has seen better days, so a renovation would help, but if that happened, the rates would be much higher. Linens and the bathrooms were clean. You can find something not quite up to par if you look really hard, but I have found that in any hotel. The only thing I noticed were the pillows. The cases were clean, but the pillows needed a good washing in bleach. That was corrected when I talked to the front desk. I always carry my own pillow anyway. As for bugs, I didn't see any. I would stay at this hotel again. It is a good, cheap hotel with no frills, but I went to Charleston to sightsee and swim, not to stay in a room all day. This hotel suited my purpose.”

“Although the staff is friendly and helpful, this hotel did not meet my expectations. It is a hotel that looks fine on paper, but it was a very uncomfortable stay. First off, it is in an unsafe area (we were literally offered crack in the parking lot). I had problems with: The A/C, the towel rod fell off the wall, no microwave or fridge in one room, bugs outside, rooms had a horrible smell, dirty and old bathrooms, flourescent bathroom light took 5 to 10 min to turn on once the switch was flipped - to name a few. It was so bad it was almost laughable. Some of these problems were corrected, but it was still unpleasant, and not what I expect. ”

“This is NOT a hotel, it is one of the worst motels I've seen. Dirty and old, everything was rusty, we got there late evening and could not sleep all night because the room was so hot and the air conditioning was unefficient and noizy. We left next morning and moved to a hotel.”
