  • Comfortable bed, Aveda toiletries nice touch.
  • Ground level parking is metered; only 2nd or 3rd story parking.

“This hotel met my expectations in every way. I arrived very late to this hotel during my stay, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate my arrival. The concierge even extended my check-out time by 1 hr to give me additional rest time! I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for the best hotel property in the McAllen area.”

  • Clean and comfortable.
  • Small rooms and very old.

“The hotel is very old and the rooms very small but clean and safe.”

  • Beautiful hotel, great location.
  • Swimming pool was closed on labor day weekend!

“Due to a reasonable rate accepted by them they wanted to charge me extra for a bottom floor room by the pool which they ended up closing on the weekend anyway! They put us in a room on the third floor in the remote corner of the hotel overlooking a dumpster. The room had a honey bee on the bed pillow. They were insensitive checking us in $40.00 extra per night they wanted for a bottom floor room with 2 double beds! After the bee incident they graciously gave it to us without charging extra.”

  • Had an old timey Look.
  • Had an old timey smell.

“It is nice to look at, but once you get inside, it is obviously dated. Rooms are smaller than I'm used to for the same star rating.”

  • Apparently the best hotle in McAllen.
  • It did not have hot water the day we stayed! Not the best of situations.

“The hotel is perfect; they need to work on how to solve unforeseen problems such as no hot water!

  • Very clean rooms and comfortable beds.
  • Rooms were small.

“For a short stay in McAllen this hotel is a good option if you want something a little more classic and more upscale than the rest of your local hotels.”

  • Clean.
  • Room was too small.

“The room was supposed to have a King size bed but it had a Queen size. Also, the room was very, very small. I called the front desk, and they claimed that there were no Queen size beds in any room at the hotel. I checked the tag on the mattress and I was right, it was a Queen, still the hotel did not change me to a room with a King. I'm not falling in the trap again, next time I will stay in a different hotel.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • Beautiful grounds with palm trees in pool area and traditional Valley architecture.
  • Staff was not as professional or service oriented for such a quality hotel.

“I requested a room with a good location. They placed me on the ground floor with a view of the dumpsters out the window and the elevators right outside my door. Beautiful room, bad location. Service in the dining room was disorganized and very slow, but servers were friendly and helpful once you pleaded for their attention. Front desk was neither friendly nor helpful. Will stay again, but with lower expectations.”

  • Probably the most comfortable bed I have slept in on the road.

“My hotel stay for two days was nice; hotel lobby very up scale, courteous staff, and maid went out of her way to bring me ice. The beds most comfortable I have ever slept in.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[4] • Location:[5]

  • Comfortable beds.
  • They made me pay an extra $ for two double beds.

“I was pretty ticked off about having to pay an extra $20 to get double beds. There wasn't a big crowd in the building, and it was for one night. I stay there all the time and this is the first time they did that. They were kind of rude about it.”

“I was very happy with my stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. I think the rooms were a little small for a family but great for couples. Beautiful lobby and gardens. I would stay here again the next time I visit.”
