  • Eclectic decor.
  • Very old, no self-park garage or lot, and no elevator.

“ The building itself is almost a century old. It certainly has a lot of character, and if you're an eccentric type of person, you may appreciate this hotel. The only parking options are valet ($20 per day with in and out privileges) and street parking. ”

  • The atmosphere was very 20's upper classy & welcoming.

“Excellent! Would love to stay again and in fact plan on it in the future!”

  • Overall, decor was very nice.
  • No elevator/handicap access/free parking.

“This would be the perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend, and visit to the Seattle Space Needle, and other attractions.”

  • Lot of street parking, good room size, decent kitchen.
  • Bathroom wasn't recently updated - tub was old with stains, looks dirty.

“Overall it was great. There is no elevator so if you have kids or using wheelchair make sure you've got room on the first floor. breakfast was only croissants and beagles with butter.”

  • Our room felt like we had our own apartment.

“It was a really nice, historical and renovated hotel. The rooms were very spacious and the kitchen included a full refrigerator/freezer, a microwave and a dining table by the window. The staff was very nice and answered any questions we had.”

  • The location was excellent!
  • Hotel parking is expensive. Access to car by valet only is also expensive.

“Ambience of hotel is lovely.”

  • It had a old-fashioned charm that we both liked.

“Although we were surprised that this hotel was a 90-year old building, we were delighted with the hardwood floors, antique type chandelier in the room and spaciousness of the room. Not being able to go to the underground parking area was a little inconvenient but overall we enjoyed the accommodations. There was a small kitchenette that we used which was convenient for us.”

  • The location was great, close to the Space Needle, great restaurants and a grocery store.
  • The shuttle did not have a car seat so we had to use public trnasportation the whole time.

“It was fabulous. Great staff and a nice surprise to get a voucher for the attached cafe each morning.”

  • Very nice boutique hotel and wonderful staff.

“The hotel is wonderful. The staff is more than happy to go out of their way for you and the room we had was large and had a full kitchen.”

  • Historic hotel in historic area.
  • The room the first night was across from nightlife - too loud. We moved and it was fine.

“No restaurant, no pool, no exercise room. The rooms were big and the hotel itself must have been built in the 1930s or 40s. It was redecorated and updated somewhat yet it still had the old style beds and furniture. Staff was very friendly and helpful.”

  • Well restored old, historic building.
  • Reluctance to discuss Air Miles with Alaska Airlines.

“Most of the experience was great. However when I spoke with the manager Alaskan Air Miles, she was reluctant to give them. In the end, she said she would mail a certificate the next day. I am still waiting.”

  • Great old building.
  • Horrible customer service by the front desk.

“We love old hotels and the Marqueen has everything you'd hope to find in one. Good location, affordable as well. The front desk staff is by far the rudest I've ever come across. I travel quite a bit and know the difference between someone having a bad day and when customer service simply isn't part of the staff expectations. Housekeeping staff and bell hops were friendly, courteous and very helpful. The front desk - who I would expect to set the example for others was rude, would not make eye contact, and had this annoying habit of saying "no" before you even finished asking your question. We stayed a total of 5 nights across two stays and the front desk service was consistently --- well, unacceptable in the hospitality industry.”
