“Overall, the hotel was very nice. We enjoyed the Jazz Band in the cocktail bar, really added to the New Orleans experience.”

“The first room I had was very big but the air conditioner did not work. The room I was moved into was a sardine can. The air conditioner did work. The bathroom was so small you could not sit on the toilet without bumping into the sink literally. No coffee for in the morning unless you paid $9.00 for a small pot. They also charged me $6.00 just to check in. The staff was very nice but how you could list this as a 4 star is totally a joke.”

“This hotel has the potential to be a great hotel. The stay wasn't that bad. However, I did expect more considering the pics I saw on the internet. The desk clerk, after check out, did not seem interested in my personal belonging I accidentally left behind. She never returned my wife's calls concerning this matter. My wife had to actually travel back to New Orleans from Mississippi just to retrieve that item. Thankfully, someone else was very courteous with helping her on that occasion. So in my opinion, with a few modifications(perhaps beginning with certain staff members) and revitalizations I'm sure this hotel will be able to live up to it's self-proclaimed reputation.”

“Really excellent. From the moment our taxi dropped us off to the moment we left, the staff treated us very well. Almost unusual for a large hotel like this. Very nice excercise facilities adjacent to the 4th floor pool. Terrific bar/lounge with sophisticated entertainment on the weekends. The Fairmont New Orleans was terrific.”

“It's a lovely, dignified, and well maintained older hotel. The room we stayed in was extremely large and comfortable, much larger than rooms in more modern hotels. But the bathroom could use some updating. The one restaurant and two bars are conveniently located off the block long lobby in very attractive spaces. But there are not a lot of options and hours are limited. The staff was very attentive and extremely helpful. But walking along Canal Street in the neighborhood around the hotel can be a little scary late at night. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay at the Fairmont New Orleans again. A very pleasant and comfortable hotel at a very reasonable price.”

“We had a great time this past weekend at the Fairmont Hotel it was just what we needed to get away. Sazerac Bar was great to come sit in after Bourbon Street. It was well above our expectations. The staff from checking in to leaving were very helpful and courteous. ”

“This hotel is very old and NOT kept up. They sell it as a resort but I strongly disagree. When we first checked in @ 10PM our room was NOT ready, they said that the hotel staff did not show up. Like that is my problem. I would not go back to that hotel. Paint was chipped through-out the hotel, very bad.”

“The Fairmont Hotel was very pleasant to stay at. It was very clean, with high ceiling, and a very large window for sunlight. It is a perfect location to the French quarters. The beds were very comfortable. The towels were very soft. The room was spacious and smelled nice. Valet parking was fast and courteous. It felt safe staying there. My wife and I would definitely stay there again on our next trip.”

“The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous throughout my stay. The heated rooftop pool was very nice as well as the exercise room and tennis courts. I ate 2 meals in the hotel and the food was a good value for the price. The room I was in was very small and cramped. The walls were faded and marked up. The MANY layers of paint were evident as there were many cracks and chips on the woodwork. The bathroom was tiny and you had to close the door to be able to sit on the toilet. My biggest dislike was that you could not open the windows, nor was there a climate control unit in the room. Once you showered you HAD to leave the room because it became so hot, humid and uncomfortable. I would NOT stay at this hotel again only because of the room issues.”
