• Location.
• Hallway smelled, room carpet was stained, toiletries were odd.

“There was a restaurant, which I assume was open. The room carpets were soiled, the soaps tried for a citrus smell but instead smelled like chemicals. The hallway - even in the early morning - smelled of curry. Wireless internet was free, but very slow.”

• Price for hotel in fair distance to NYC.
• Unkept room.

“Seems to be in a state of ongoing repair, room was fairly loud due to outside road traffic. Though no real complaints 3 star is overrated though. It is a Holiday Inn but not of the typical Holiday Inn standard, Yet. I think this property was something else before and run into the ground, it appears they are attempting to upgrade it now.”

• Cost for the area with reasonable access to NYC.
• Overall unkempt, very loud freeway and street traffic heard in room.

“Tried to put me in a king bed to share with my adult daughter ? I complained and they gave us a double smoking room. Manager then got involved and she was quite nice and helpful with a much better attitude. for $75.00 a night though near NYC not really bad, for somewhere else this would be a $50. A night full rate hotel.”

• The staff was very friendly.
• We didn't get much sleep; the hotel was very loud even after we called the desk.

“I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you had a long drive and are really tired. I've never been to a hotel that was so loud in my life. It was only quiet between the hrs of 1 a.m. - 5 a.m. We called the front desk to tell them because we had our 15mth old with us and he couldn't sleep. It was so loud you couldn't even drown it out with the TV. They said they would take care of it. Nothing was done. The staff was friendly and the room was nice. The carpet was really dirty. Also my son found a dirty ear plug I'm not sure from where in the room. The food prices were very high, so we went someplace else to eat breakfast. As nice as everyone was, I still don't think I would ever return there.”

• The bed was comfortable.
• The bathroom was too small and dated and there was no fridge or microwave included.

“The front desk staff was outstanding, made a point to be helpful. I was grateful for that and that he gave me a better room at check in since the bathroom was.”

• The service and the room!

“The staff was not friendly. When I requested a microwave, I told that it would cost me $10.00. When I mentioned that I always request a microwave from the other Holiday Inns and never was asked to pay any extra charge. Then his story changed to it is free. The sleep number bed was not function properly, so someone call in to assist with no success. I just didn't feel comfortable there and will never go back!”

• The staff is so friendly.
• They do not have up to date bus schedules to New York city.

“Great location for bus to NYC. Friendly staff. You need a car for groceries and treats but there is an excellent A&P a few miles away for this. NJ Garden State mall is just one stop down the highway. Fabulous shopping.”

• It is a good location, near major highways and parkways.
• There are many tour buses that bring a large number of overnight guests.

• Good accessibility from urban area and highway.
• Attitude of the staff.

“The staff in this hotel was miserable. He welcomed a rude person cut in the line, ignoring the guest waiting for his turn. Additionally, I don't think he tried his best to resolve the guest's request. So, I had to stay in smoking room with my wife and 5-months-old baby. I will never use this hotel next time.”

• Good location and excellent indoor pool.
• No internet access (other than wireless) in the room.

“Conveniently located near entrance to Garden State Parkway and Route 80 (to NY and NJ Turnpike); very large indoor pool with lounges and tables and chairs surrounding same. Large parking lot with easy access through two front doors. Very friendly staff.”

• It was close to where we needed to be.
• The staff and the cleanliness were lacking.

“We arrived and they put us in a smoking room and we had requested a non smoking room. When we called down to get a new room they could not accommodate us which is fine but the staff was rude and could care less then the next night they moved us and the room was filthy. The staff was rude and impolite. I would not recommend this hotel.”

• The coffee machine in the room did not work properly.
